With the success at the end of the year for the Browns, they proved that they have the potential to become a team that wins with a strong running game, defense, and special teams. They simply need a quarterback to manage the game and makes smart decisions. Quinn has proven that he is a smart quarterback and does not make many mistakes. Although he is not flashy, teams can win in the NFL with average quarterbacks. Rather than continue on such a desperate search for a franchise quarterback, they should win with another effective method and Quinn is the right man for this responsibility
While it is true that the Browns won those games with the running game, defense, and special teams. It is also true that two of those wins came against some of the worst teams in the NFL. The Chiefs were 31st in run defense, and the Raiders were 29th. The final two games that Brady played in he averaged 78 yards passing in those games. while you are correct in asserting that we need a smart, "ball control" QB if you look at is completion percentage you will see that he is a career 52% passer. You will also notice that he threw only 1 more td than interception, again that doesn't really fit the smart, effective QB mold.
