Pro

Round 1 is for acceptance.
Round 2 is for arguments.

I accept.

The BOP is upon Pro to show us that he is god.

Good luck!! :)
Debate Round No. 1
UtherPenguin

Pro

The burden of proof is on the person that asserts the statement. I have asserted the statement. Therefore I have the Burden of Proof

I never said the burden of proof was on me to prove that I am god. Con asserted that. Therefore the burden of proof is on Con to prove that I said that as well as the burden of proof is on him to prove that it's not on me.

I would like to ask Con to show me a picture of a cat cuter than this.
Lee001

Con

1st off, Pro fails to provide us with definitions or rules. He never stated that Con *couldn't* come up with the topic. He never asserted a argument for him to uphold his BoP.

2nd of all, Pro concedes the debate by saying "I never said the burden of proof was on me to prove that I am god. Con asserted that. Therefore the burden of proof is on Con to prove that I said that as well as the burden of proof is on him to prove that it's not on me."

3 points to Con (Arguments). Reasons for voting decision: Con was logical and straightforward.

[*Reason for removal*] (1) No explanation for the arguments point. Simply repeats the point category.

Reasons for voting decision: Con's argument that "Pro has to prove that he's God" is irrelevant. But this mistake (or smart maneuver) caused Con to make the statement that "BoP is on Con" which negates the resolution. Con wins.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro's initial argument wins the day. He argued that (1) The burden of is on the one making the claim, (2) Pro made the claim that "The burden of proof is on Pro," (3) Therefore, the burden of proof is on Pro. Con didn't dispute any of those premises, so Pro wins. The rest of the debate consisted of red herrings and can therefore be ignored.

Reasons for voting decision: This resolution was really silly, but ultimately I vote CON for a few reasons. PRO practically conceded the debate by asserting that CON had a burden (a) to prove that PRO said his burden was in showing he was God and (b) to prove a negative - that the burden wasn't on CON, but on him. This seems like a giant, meandering twist, but ultimately I have to grant this to CON after what was a de-facto concession, though I do't think it was customary for CON to effectively come up with a resolution, as she did in R1. Overall, a really silly, but hilarious, debate.
