I will be arguing that the Catholic Church errs when prohibiting the use of force to stop abortion, and causes it's own position on abortion to be inconsistent. My opponent my begin in round one to explain how this teaching is consistent with the church's teaching on abortion.

To decipher the intent of the "Church" and its' point of view on this matter is to "pre-determine" that the church has any right to "Make Legal, Validate, or Ordain" the original act in the first place. In other words, the prohibition of force to obtain their ultimate intent is simply their way of proclaiming their impotence on the matter in the first place. Or perhaps, with-in their own ranks, it is viewed that force/violence, is even less desirable than the original offense. Religion in general for too long, has acted as a conduit for regulating the thoughts, actions and choices of the masses in general. The simple fact is, that the church, be it Catholic, Christian, Hindu, etc. Has NO AUTHORITY in the prevention, application, or enforcement of humans period. With that said, if "We" as a society choose to allow a particular law, ruling, mandate, etc., to be enforced, then at that time, it becomes a willful intention by the majority of the society in question. But to assume that any religion or dogmatic act has that same power is absurd.

I am one.....:)

So what should the catholic church do?Issue an order to start a terrorist crusade against abortion clinics?

Assassinations of pro-choice politicians .......anyone up for that?

Christianity is the belief that love conquers all.Jesus never fought, we see no reason not to follow his example.

The crusades were called by the popes merely to take back the holy Land that had fallen to Muslims. The actions of the Kings who defied the orders of the Pope are an unfortunate consequence.
