The Confederate Memorial in Forest Park is a memorial in honor of those who lost their lives during the Civil War. Regardless of which side they fought for, these were humans and their sacrifice should be honored for their families.

You may consider editing the resolution to something like: "Should the city of St. Louis...". I say that because currently your resolution is a fact statement, that you're denying.

I agree with your stance but not your reasoning. It doesn't logically follow from anywhere, it's just the thing people say when they're protesting something.
