I believe the Confederate flag is not a symbol of hate but as a symbol of history and proud heritage. If you would like to debate of this and a kind fashion setting I hope to be able to take anyoneon, it all states please have your facts in normal chronological order if not decide on a topic and I'll try to debunk it. Bring on your debates I will please ask nicely of no racism or hatred to anyone this is a fair equal grounds. This is my first time on the site in this is my first debate. I would like to be fair honest and take everyone's opinions into facts not to just stay with one's own personal beliefs.

I accept

We are talking about the flag symbolzation of course because a piece of fabric cant be racist

Therefore the resolution is: The symoblzation of the confederate flag through history is not racist

Definitions: racist-hatred towards another race or having a negative outlook on someone because of the color of their skin

Good luck to you pro

I agree. The Virgina battle flag actually has a deep meaning. The red stands for the blood of Christ, the white border stands for the protection of god, the 13 stars stand for the 13 states that succeeded from the union, the blue is the christian cross of saint Andrew, first disciple of Jesus and patron saint of Scotland. So the meaning of the flag is "Through the blood of Christ, with the protection of god, we, the 13 states, are united in our christian fight for liberty.
Not to mention morals and meanings change over time. Yesterday's ally's are tomorrow's enemies. ww2, the Russians were our friends and the japs our enemies. afterwards, the Japanese were our friends and the Russians our enemies. The Nazi swastika, too. Originally, that was an Indian sign for peace and prosperity. Then the Nazis took it and turned the meaning for Aryan supremacy. So too did the rebel battle flag meaning change. Now it's basically the official redneck flag, and good wholesome family entertainment on the dukes of hazard TV show. (Not the recent modern movies, those were horribly inappropriate.)
