Here are the rules. You state why you think the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) is a threat. Voters will choose the winner.

North Korea is not a threat to the United States of America (U.S.A.). There is no way they can win a war against us. North Korea's technological capability far lacks the U.S.A.'s capability. Their equipment is old and obsolete. Their military is very corrupt. It has terrible leadership. Their government is also very corrupt. They have terrible leadership, there is no trust between officials at all. Kim Jong Un, North Korea's dictator, executed his uncle. Anybody with a right sense of mind in North Korea do not trust the government, and they hate it. North Korea is the most corrupt country in the world. They are not a real threat to the United States of America.

The definition of threat is, "a person or thing likely to cause damage or danger." (Google Dictionary). North Korea has been catching up to the U.S. quickly in terms of military technology; they have already been developing nuclear weapons and such, and are willing to use them (CNN News, Jethro Mullen). If North Korea were to use a nuclear weapon on the United States, it would certainly cause damage and danger to a part of the U.S. While North Korea may not be able to win a war against the United States, it possesses and is developing weapons that definitely pose a threat to the United States. As for what you stated about citizens with a right sense of mind hating the government in North Korea, most citizens in North Korea do not have a right sense of mind. North Korea is a brainwashed society, and many of its citizens support the creation and possible using of nuclear weaponry, further posing a threat to the United States (The Guardian, Je Son Lee).

CNN News is not a credible news source. Sorry about that. Now onto the debate. North Korea is not a serious threat to the United States of America. North Korea is only a serious threat (a very short one) to their surrounding neighbors. Let's look at both of their military. North Korea's military is ranked 36th in the world. The United States's military is ranked 1st. North Korea's military budget is $7,500,000,000, while the United States's budget is $577,100,000,000. North Korea has a total population of 24,851,627 people. They 12,933,972 available manpower with 10,066,704 fit for service, and 412,290 reach military age annually. They have 690,000 active frontline personnel with 4,500,00 active personnel. The United States has a total population of 320,202,220 with 145,212,012 fit for service, and 4,217,412 reach military age annually. The United States has 1,400,00 active frontline personnel with 1,100,000 reserve personnel. If both sides activated their reserve personnel, then North Korea outnumbers the United States in manpower, and their small arms can take on the United States's but the United States makes up for this with their equipment and technological capability. North Korea has 4,200 tanks, 4,100 Armored Fighting Vehicles, 2,250 Self-Propelled Guns, 4,300 Towed-Artillery, and 2,400 Multiple-Launch Rocket Systems. However, North Korea's ground equipment is old and obsolete, and they can't even use the majority of their land vehicles due to a lack of resources. Compare that to the United States. The United States has 8,484 tanks, 41,062 Armored Fighting Vehicles, 1,934 Self-Propelled Guns, 1,299 Towed-Artillery, 1,331 Multiple-Launch Rocket Systems. The United States can use all their equipment, and they are modern and updated constantly. Now let's look at their air power. North Korea has a total of 940 aircraft. They have 458 Fighters/Interceptors, 516 Fixed-Wing Aircraft, 99 Transport Aircraft, 165 Trainer Aircraft, 202 helicopters, and 10 attack helicopters. However the majority of their aircraft are old, obsolete, Soviet and Chinese designed aircraft from the 1950s and '60s. They can't even use the majority of their aircraft due to the lack of resources and many of them needing repair; it is a whole different story for the United States. The United States has a total of 13,892 aircraft. They have 2,207 Fighters/Interceptors, 2,797 Fixed-Wing Aircraft, 5,366 Transport Aircraft, 2,809 Trainer Aircraft, 6,196 Helicopters, and 920 Attack Helicopters. The United States's aircraft is modern, up to date, and they have the resources to use them all. Let's look at their naval power now. North Korea has a total of 1,061 ships. They have 4 Frigates, 2 Corvettes, 70 Submarines, 375 Coastal Defensed Craft, and 23 Mine Warfare. However, Their naval equipment is old and obsolete, and they can't even use a lot of their ships due to a lack of resources. The United States has a total of 473 ships. They have 20 Aircraft Carriers, 10 Frigates, 62 Destroyers, 72 submarines, 13 Coastal Defense Craft, and 11 Mine Warfare. The United States's ships are up to date, and they have the resources to use them all. North Korea has a smaller labor force than the United States, and they don't have as much access to resources as the United States does. What about nuclear capability? Well North Korea is believed to only have 6-8 warheads, and their warheads can't even reach the United States. The United States has around 2,104-4,804 active nuclear warheads, and their warheads can hit any target in the world. In Conclusion, North Korea is not a serious threat to the United States.

It's a joke.

NC could never do anything to harm US. They are not even a threat to their neighbours no matter how US wants to portray that, although quite numerous.
If they started something, their soldiers would drop everything and defect and that's that.
The reason US is there i because there is an opportunity to move in and seize a territory under the pretesnse of human rights and all the other jive.
They are just waiting for that.
