14+ should be able to drive, and at the age of 13, they should be able to take driving tests. Want to know why? 14 is where a average person would mature and be more responsible. They shouldn't have to wait until 16 to be able to drive. Some people have bad parents who don't even feel like driving their kids to school so the kids just lose education.

First off, you state that they are a mature age. Being a 14 year old myself, I don't agree with this. First off the younger the teenager, the more reckless they are. You are able to drive at 14 if a family member has a disability and they need someone to drive them somewhere, its called a hardship licences. But besides that, 14 year olds I would say are too immature compared to 16 year olds.

Also you never mentioned any restrictions, if 14 year olds were allowed to drive with other teenagers in the car that would be a total disaster. They would easily distract each other and we all know teenagers get goofy with each other. There is a small percentage of very mature 14 year olds who could focus on the rode with other teens in the car but even without other teens in the car, they still can easily get stressed and frustrated at a young age on the rode.

According to cdc.gov it shows...
"In 2013, 2,163 teens in the United States ages 16"19 were killed and 243,243 were treated in emergency departments for injuries suffered in motor vehicle crashes.1 That means that six teens ages 16"19 died every day from motor vehicle injuries."

The thing is, we are putting very young peoples behind the wheel and teenagers are injured and killed everyday because of this. 14 year olds are still young and we shouldn't put such as young age in a car to drive. Remember no matter how perfect of a drive you are, you can still be hurt in a wreck.

"Some people have bad parents who don't even feel like driving their kids to school so the kids just lose education."
Well schools for the past generations have developed a magic car called a bus. It transports kids who need to get to school. So this is flawed statement saying they will lose their education if their parents won't drive them to school. They can easily walk to the local school bus stop (or sometimes they stop by your house) and they can get to school on time. So this is not an issue.

Lets be honest, there really is not purpose for a 14 year old to have a driver's license unless they have family members who have disability or they need to provide for their families. Which we already have a system for that, as I have stated, a hardship licenses.

16 year old is the age where you start working and getting a job, that is why it is that limit and you start getting a little more busy with college and things along those lines.
