For those of you who still thinks Earth is flat or if you're up for a REALLY good challenge, please feel free to accept.

There will be 3 rounds:
Round 1: Acceptance
Round 2-3: Open argument

formality not required but evidence are!

You are allowed to post anything that you think will help support your argument. Good luck.

"Let's go fool."

I like that XD.

I'm going to start off my argument with a picture of Earth taken from outer space by NASA.

http://solarsystem.nasa.gov...

One can observe from the picture of Earth above that the Earth is round. Many travelers and athletes have traveled across the world in a single direction and has successfully returned to the same exact spot. Some examples of these travelers:

and here's a view of Earth taken by the airplane ARES

http://marsairplane.larc.nasa.gov...

All these sources would suggest that the Earth is a sphere and round in nature.

Con

The earth is a sphere, not simply round, as you have proven in your argument for me.

A sphere is round.

Therefore it can be concluded that if the Earth is a sphere, then it is round.

So that would reinforce my statement of "The Earth is round."

Con

Well i can also argue that the earth is in fact not a sphere, but a sort or sphere oval thing, which is in fact NOT round and in fact a shape with a lot of sides. Also if you were lazy and just wanted to assume it was a sphere it is not because since earth rotates on its axis the centripetal force has pulled it a few kilometers out.

Hm.. As one of the participants of this debate I'm probably not in a good position to say this but I think what republicofdhar meant to represent with his vote is that he agreed with Con's opinion however Con made the mistake of agreeing with Pro in round two that the Earth is a sphere so there by invaliding his claim that the Earth is isn't round.

What Con should've done was claim in round 2 that Earth isn't actually a sphere and provide evidence for that. In that case Pro will then have to defend against that claim.

I think the vote from republicofdhar was unfair. If you became convinced that one side is correct, then that means the person arguing that side made the better arguments.

Reasons for voting decision: Con aaalmost rebutted Pro. Pro assumed that the opposite of "The Earth is round" is necessarily that "The Earth is flat". A sphere is round. The Earth is definitely not a perfect sphere, and therefore not perfectly round. Simply hearing that would have won Con the debate for me.

Reasons for voting decision: con never managed to fully rebut pro. He never really managed to prove that sphere's aren't round. Last round new arguments were kind of dirty tactic, so ignored.
