I agree that the German army was not made up totally of nazis- Soldiers were killed if they did not comply to the nazi doctrine. Some tried but failed to take down Hitler. Nor were the nazi entirely evil. Many did what they did because they thought it was the best thing to do for their country, but only bullies and thugs seemed to rise through the ranks as brutality was a virtue to them. The nazis may have made the world aware of ethnic cleansing, but they didn't invent it, nor were they the last to try it. The book '1938; Hitler's Gamble' by Giles MacDonogh is a very interesting read. it does not cast the germans as the evil enemy. It talks about the economic crisis brought about by the treaty of Versailles of WWI and the many attempts by the wehrmacht to oust Hitler, Their pleas for support from the English, which failed as the English liked having the Nazis in power in Germany because they were a buffer to the soviets. It also talks about the non-lethal attempts by the nazis to expel the Jews- fleece them first, but then send them on their way. Boatloads were sent to Jerusalem to be turned away by the British, the refugees even fired upon by the British. Antisemitism was rampant in Europe, it wasn't just the German Nazis, many countries closed their borders to the Jewish refugees. Much like countries are doing now to the IS refugees.

Reasons for voting decision: This was honestly a terrible debate. However in the beginning Pro provided a very rudimentary argument, that could've easily been refuted by Con, but Con decided instead to only fix Pro's 2 spelling errors. After that both sides forfeited. Due to Pro providing some sort of argument, and Con providing none, arguments go to Pro.
