I don't ever shoot guns or anything but I support the rights of those who do. Look at that quote from the NRA: "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun." Making guns illegal will just make the crime rate go up. 1st of all, criminals aren't going to give up their weapons and it will make people more vulnerable to being robbed or even killed.

Yes there are school shootings and I hate that. However, people honestly think stricter gun control will stop it. These criminals break dozens of laws. Do you think a few more is going to stop them?

Hello I have chosed to fight on the side of guns should be either outlawed or restricted. Guns may stop crimes but some crimes are caused with guns. Sure you can make the point of having a gun to prevent crime however then i'll make the point you should be allowed to only defend your home with maybe a small arms gun and not assualt rifles shotguns and any high powered weapon. Guns do not stop crime they help it.

Since (PRO) has not replied I shall push my argument

A lot of research has gone into this and people have found guns increase violence and suicide rates. I shall keep my arguments brief.
Children are also at risk since many deaths happen due to accidental weapon dis-charge.

And here is a chart for gun related murders

Compared to many place we have very low crime rates. Its a devils game to play with guns, if you outlaw them its only on paper. Criminals will still get their hands on guns, and you, the law abiding citizen will not have anything to defend yourself with against a gun. Its impossible to outlaw guns as well, just gonna put that out there. Once again, it comes down to States Rights to control guns because this is not Russia or Communist china where Mao did what? Outlawed guns and forcibly disarmed the people. We were able to fight the brutal english monarchy with guns, we should keep guns still today. What could have stopped many school shootings was a 12 gauge shotgun. Guns are the last stand against tyranny and invasion. (all of those things happen even if you are unwilling to except it.) Guns are also ... what? Inanimate Objects! So, before you think about outlawing guns think about maybe cutting off peoples hands when they commit violence, like in K.S.A

I'd say I debate you on this, but 60 minute-frame doesn't work for me today

I remember a lovely headline during the last school shooting: "'nothing could have prevented this', says the only country where this happens regularly".

A few smart laws could be a good start. I outline one in this video: https://www.youtube.com...

It solves the problem that you have immediately after illegalizing guns, which is an unarmed populace facing down armed criminals.

Universal background checks would be a good start to this issue. However, as long as our country invests trillions into our military, citizens should protect their right to bear arms. If we are to disarm, it should start at the federal level.

Reasons for voting decision: forfeit. seriously, if you want to debate in a one-hour-response frame; you should keep in mind that you might never know when the debate is getting accepted. Take at least 24 hours to give yourself a chance. Conduct and Logic flaws. One point to Con.
