The Iraq war is a war that we should have never entered. It is quite obvious that it is an unjust war. The sooner we get out of there the better.

I didn't agree with the war when it began. I protested at Macdill Airforce base in Tampa and in NYC. I believe that this war is unjust.

However, to cut and run now would -in the long run- have a net result worse than staying; in these terms: US lives, Iraqi lives, monetary cost, increasing the risk of a takeover by Islamic militants like Al Qaeda.

If we cut and run Iraq will become Afghanistan 1996 all over again. The most extreme, militant elements, foreign and Iraqi will usurp the weak new government there and establish a base that is ten-fold more effective and dangerous than those in Afghanistan.

We need to stay. Like General Powell said: we broke it, we fix it. It is entirely irresponsible to leave now just because things are going "bad." The champions of the war in 2003 when it first began didn't predict a "bad" situation (by the way, as wars go the US casualty rate is minimal compared to Korea, Vietnam, WWI, WWII, and The Civil War) now are squimish because marines are dying and dont have the stomach to see through the monstrosity that they started.

The most responsible thing to do is to stay until a safe and secure Iraq is established.

Mr. Paul must take into consideration the sweeping change in foreign policy following September 11. It is unreasonable and frankly inflammatory to say that Bush is "nation building" in Iraq and Afghanistan. Both of these instances, no matter where you land on the debate, were direct and indirect results of a policy change after 9-11-01.

In closing I would like to restate my original argument that Ron Paul was incorrect to leave 9-11 out of his discussion on the change in Bush's foreign policy over the course of this administration.

Now that I have shown the STUPIDITY and BRAIN WASHED LIBERAL NATURE of your

(1) dismissal of the GLOBAL THREAT OF ISLAM

by your liberalism (a mental disorder)

" oh gee, everybody does it so lets just ignore the mass murderers , bombers, and suicide killers- all muslims"

your quote (tuen on the whiny liberal sheep voice)

baaaaaah !

Acts of terrorism happen everyday, by those of all faiths, from all walks of life, who are unwilling to exchange fists of anger for hands of peace.

baaaaaaah!

My point is that it is ridiculous to limit the enemy of terrorism to one faith.

just like a good sheep to the slaughter

Zoroastrian

or ANY OTHER person of faith (or atheist) who has plotted or carried out ANY act of terrorism in recent times

Once again, you try and equate the MILLIONS and MILLIONS of terrorist acts ALL to do DIRECTLY with ISLAM

here are 1000 pages of them

http://www.prophetofdoom.net...

with the same old BS that the liberals always try

(1) Christians - WRONG

(2) the KKK- a totally meaningless group that hasnt killed anyone in years and at its HEIGHT in the 1920s etc maybe killed a hundred folks

(3) Old Tim Mc Veigh - was he alone ? NO

FACTS on OK City 1995

http://www.prophetofdoom.net...

In a terrorist attack American politicians don't want linked to Islam, but is, a truck exploded outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City. A total of 168 people, 19 of whom were children, were killed in the blast. Falling debris and burns injured 600 additional Americans.

The inspiration, strategy, financing, staffing and technical support for the terrorist attack came from Muslims in the Philippines with links to Pakistan, Iraq, and Egypt. The principle instigators were the Abu Sayyaf Group in the Philippines and Egypt's Islamic Group led by the bind Islamic cleric Sheikh Abdul Rahman and his Pakistani disciple, Ramzi Yousef.

(4) Cho ? Inspired by ISLAM

There have been many reports that Cho Seung-Hui, the Virginia Tech psychopath and mass murderer, signed his suicide note: "Ismail Ax," and that this slogan was scribbled on his arm in red ink prior to him snuffing out the lives of thirty-two innocent souls.

Ismail, more commonly transliterated, Ishmael, is considered the forefather of Islam. His name means "Muslim - one who submits." Muhammad, who was Allah's lone voice, actually claimed in the Koran that Islam was Ishmael's religion. Muhammad even said, as do many Muslims today, that he was his direct descendant.

Only in Islam is Ishmael a hero. In the Bible, Ishmael is presented as a reprehensible soul

The definition of terrorism is
1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate, coerce, esp. for political purposes.

I'm sure you already know this. but ANYONE can do that, yes including those of the Islamic faith, but it is not limited to that, nor is the religion of Islam one where all people involved are 'satan worshipping scum', as you so suggest.

Yeah, lets also just look around our own country. Acts of the KKK (who generally were white "christian" people) committed against black people definitely fit the definition of terrorism. Timothy McVeigh, agnostic, and the Oklahoma city bombing in 1995, definitely an act of terrorism. Virginia tech shooter Cho, from South Korea, commited a troubling act of terrorism. Acts of terrorism happen everyday, by those of all faiths, from all walks of life, who are unwilling to exchange fists of anger for hands of peace.

My point is that it is ridiculous to limit the enemy of terrorism to one faith. And to limit one faith with many good people, to terrorism.

The war is NOT with ISLAM (as you previously quoted it is) TO SAY SUCH raving foolishness makes you equally as bad as an islamic terrorist who kills another because of THEIR Christianity. You seem only one step away.

Looking around this website last night I have come to the conclusion that you perhaps cannot be serious. You hardly make valid points, you only enjoy getting people's backs up. You say bonehead things and people like myself actually try to reason with you. I refuse to argue against someone who is just in this to make others angry.

You think the 'old man' isn't as smart as you, you think the 'young' aren't as smart as you, you give no credence to anyone's opinion except your own. I will respect your opinions, (if indeed they really are your opinions, which i doubt) but my respect for you is not high enough to further engage in political debate with you. Good day.

MADRID (Reuters) - Islamist extremists were planning attacks across Europe, especially against public transport, before their arrests in Barcelona last weekend, a Spanish paper reported on Saturday, citing a would-be attacker's testimony.

The Al Qaeda-inspired cell planned to attack the Barcelona metro and other targets in Spain, Germany, France, Portugal and the United Kingdom, said the bomber turned police informant.

In testimony that led to the arrest of 14 South Asians last Saturday, the informant told police the group had a preference for attacks on public transport, especially metro systems, El Pais newspaper reported.

"If we attack the metro, the emergency services can't get there," the informant said he was told by a fellow suicide bomber, El Pais reported.

Two pairs with explosive-filled bags were to enter separate Barcelona subway stations and other members of the group were to detonate their bombs by remote control, said the witness.

On Friday, Spain's government said the Barcelona cell was preparing to carry out the metro attack either last weekend or in the following 15 days.

Two other pairs of suicide bombers had been assigned targets elsewhere in Spain, another was to attack Germany, three were given objectives in France and two more were to strike Portugal.

The informant said the Barcelona cell had six suicide bombers and other members responsible for preparing explosives and planning attacks in other European states. Four of those arrested have since been released due to lack of evidence.

Al Qaeda was to take responsibility for the Barcelona attacks through Baitullah Mehsud, a Taliban commander the Pakistani government says was behind the assassination of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, El Pais said.

"Only the leadership of the organization knows what requests the emir (Baitullah) will make after the first attack, but if they are not carried out, there will be a second attack, a third in Spain. And next Germany, France,

Solarman, the validity of your arguments go totally out the window when you make statements such as "Islamic Satan worshipping scum". If you knew anything about Islam, which obviously you don't, you would know that it itself is a religion of peace and tolerance. The very salute of Islam is "Al Salam Alaiekom" (May you have peace). Islam also forbids insulting another religion (hmm.) I am not Islamic, but I try to educate myself, especially in today's world, ESPECIALLY when we are at war with an Islamic country, about other religions. Terrorism is what we fight against, not Islam. And terrorism, my friend, has no religion.

And the war in Iraq was not called for, or done correctly. I don't know how it can even be proposed that it has been "done correctly" when hey, we're still entrenched in the war, with no solution in sight. Iraq posed no imminent threat to the United States when we invaded, neither was it a central terrorist hub before the war began.

History WILL judge Bush correctly, as a President who rashly invaded a country and left America stuck in a financial rut, left our soldiers stuck in the rut of an iraqi civil war without enough resources, and severely injured the name of America as a respected, moral country in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Still defending this war is moronic.
