The Kung fu Panda characters (The Furious Five) and Tai Lung are created and based on Chinese martial arts styles, mostly kung fu.

Other than the Po the panda, the Furious Five characters like Master Tigress, Master Monkey, Master Mantis Master Crane and Tai Lung are all based on different kinds of kung fu martial arts styles. Some disagree with that, but I agreed that the Furious Five characters are based on five martial arts styles of Kung fu.

The Furious Five and Tai Lung are homage's to the Crane, Snake, Monkey, Praying Mantis, Tiger and Leopard styles of Chinese martial arts.

http://en.wikipedia.org...

Master Tigress is based on the Tiger style kung fu.

Master Monkey is based on the monkey kung fu.

Master Mantis is based on the praying mantis kung fu.

Master Viper is based on the snake kung fu (my personal favorite style).

Master Crane is based on the Crane Kung fu

Tai Lung was based on the Leopard Kung fu.

It is not a coincidence the creators and producers of the movie could have chosen the animals randomly and gets six out of six of the Kung fu animal style correct. The creators and the producers could have chosen a thousand of different animals but they chose six, which happens to be the six animal's styles of kung fu. The creators and producers did their research and chose the animals tiger, leopard, snake, monkey, crane and praying mantis because of the six Kung fu animal styles.

Thank you for my opponent to take me on for this debate.

I argue against you that the Kung Fu Panda ‘Furious Five' characters (the exception of Po) are not based on the animal style of martial arts.

I believe it is a coincidence that the producers or creators have chosen the five animals of the furious five and not chosen based on the animal kung fu styles.

One of your resources is from wikipedia, anyone can write their own beliefs in anything and you could have wrote in the wikipedia that the animal style are from the six kung fu style. So, the wikipedia is out.

Two out of two could be a coincidence, but six out of six out of a thousand animals they could have chosen can never a coincidence. You haven't come an explanation against the You Tube videos.

Master Tigress is based on the Tiger Style Kung fu. The tiger is an aggressive, wide kicks and with powerful blows. If you take a look at the Tigress' fighting style, it is similar to the You Tube tiger style in my first round argument.

Master Viper is based on the snake kung fu. Just like how Master Viper Strikes, the snake likes to entwine with their enemy's defense and strike in an unexpected spots. If you look at Master Viper fighting style, it is similar how a person fights with his hands in the snake You Tube video in my first argument

Master Crane fighting style is how the Bruce Lee demonstrates the Crane kung fu style. Bruce Lee is the king and the father of kung fu, so his word always final.

Master Monkey fights how a monkey kung fu fighter fights. Monkey kung fu likes to make fun of his opponents and fooling them by doing so, just like how Master Monkey likes to fight in the second argument you tube video.

Master Mantis fights is like a Praying Mantis Kung fu fighter.

Your ‘Six out of Six' argument can be a coincidence, even though there is a thousand other possibly of choosing other animals.

For your You Tube videos, they are all be fantasies, just like your cartoon videos. Don't believe EVERYTHING you see on TV or you tube. Besides, your first argument You Tube videos fighting styles are nowhere near the same fighting style of your second round You Tube videos.

Again, the producers and creators choosing the six animals for Kung Fu Panda based on the six animals styles of kung fu. I don't know HOW someone by coincidence, choosing six animals out of a thousand animals at random for Kung Fu Panda and it happens that those six could be the six animal style of kung fu. You haven't explain yet how that can be a coincidence, because it is not a coincidence. They producers studies what kind of animals styles of kung fu there are and chosen the tiger, snake, crane, praying Mathis, monkey and leopard animals for their characters.

You are also stating that my videos are all fantasies? Take it from someone who has yet having a single resource. My you tube videos of both of my first and second arguments are similar.

You are tying to knock off my wikipedia resource, I checked and they have not yet taken off of wikipedia, because it is true and not false.

The crane kung fu fighters are patience fighters, a personality towards Master Crane. A monkey style likes to fight with antics, causing distraction for opponents and high activeness. Master Monkey likes to fight with antics, causing distraction against his opponents and very active when fighting, sometimes even not fighting. Praying Mantis Kung fu style likes to grab their opponents, just like Master Mathis like to grab his opponents and striking like a praying mantis fighter. Tiger fighting style likes to strike with aggression and relying on his or her strength, Master Tigress likes to fight with aggression and relying on her strength to strike an opponent. In other words, all of the "Furious Five" characters' personality and fight styling are the same style and personality as the five animal kung fu styles and personality. Is that a coincidence too? I don't think so. (http://en.wikipedia.org...)

For the leopard, Tai Lung is a leopard and his fight style is similar to the leopard style. Leopard likes to develop muscle speed for external strength and uses his punches for penetration and lower springing power, just like how Tai Lung likes to fight.

I don't think coincidence with choosing the animals, fighting style AND personality could play a factor here out of a thousand (maybe millions) possibilities, it just impossible.

Answering to you coincidence questions? Coincidence can never be explained by anyone. I do not need a resource to back my argument up. So it is just a coincidence that the creators and producers chosen the animals just by coincidence.

Haha, Kohaku, your first vid of preying mantis is southern style. Not what your R2 vid shows (one off kicks, jumping attacks - northern style). May want to fix that. :P

Based on assumes the creators and animators actually have the characters use authentic techniques from those styles. Your videos simply show examples of the styles, not the animated characters performing them.
