Standard rules. Con should begin his arguments in Round 1, but must post "No round, as agreed upon" in round 5. Failure to do so will result in a 7-point forfeit to Pro.

Here is why the minimum wage should be increased:

1. $7.25 is not a living wage.
2. Raising the minimum wage will spur demand and improve the economy.
3. Productivity has doubled since 1967 but median wages have stagnated.
4. 95% of income gains since the recovery have gone to the top one percent.
5. There is no evidence that it will "cause inflation."
6. There is no evidence that most businesses cannot absorb the costs, but even if they laid some workers off, the net benefit from the demand stimulus would be enough to provide a net benefit to the economy.

This is basic economics. Of course the minimum wage should be increased.

@Jevinigh: That's the rule we signed onto, and that BobtheLibertarian accepts. If you were to hold that against me, I'd report you for votebombing. It's a perfectly valid rule. In fact, Mikal, who is the site's top debater, does it all the time. So kindly be quiet.

I love it when a debater thinks he can put rules on the voting process. Like we ( the voters) are in anyway obligated to give 7 points for something arbitrary. But I wont hold it against you going forward. Make the debate a good one.

Oops. I was watching TV and Just assumed when I saw standard rules that that meant that the first round was just acceptance.

Ok sure having the last round as summaries is fine for me.

Bob you already broke the rules lol. You were supposed to post your argument in Round 1.

How about we change them up, and simply assign the last round to summaries of our positions without new arguments?

We will see about that.

You mean, I took the opposite position in our debate? lol. I'm planning to play devil's advocate in this one, don't worry haha. I just love tearing apart poor arguments against a minimum wage hike, which is all that BobtheLibertarian has made thus far.
