The NFL is more entertaining than the NBA because every year is unpredictable you never know who will win the championship or even make the playoffs for the fact. The NBA every year you can probably tell who will make the playoffs and who will probably win the Championship based on the power rankings made by analysts or even the events of last year.

The playoff structure is more entertaining
1 game elimination opposed to a series best out of 7.
The teams in the NFL playoffs a lot of the time are of same skill level or have some leverage over the other team like in defense, or offense or sometimes their skills are equally compatible for the top 6 teams that makes it in each conference. In the NBA a lot of the time one team is seen to be a dominate favorite to win.

The NFL overall is more entertaining just by how the system works making every year suspenseful

Thank you for the debate. I ask that the voters vote based on the debate rather than on personal opinion.

==========================
Break down of my opponents arguments:
==========================

1. Unpredictable Outcomes: Loserboi asserts that the NFL is unpredictable in the sense that you don't know who will make the playoffs and/or win the championship. This argument fails until my opponent proves this or shows evidence that this is actually the case. I will further argue this one once he backs it up.

2. The playoff structure is more entertaining: This is left for personal preference however i will show points to try and prove my point and leave it up to the voters.

1. One game elimination vs Best of 7 series. There is a reason that during any experiment it is often preferred to have multiple trials, the results of 1 trial simply are not always accurate. That is why the experiment is often done 3-5 times. It also adds an interesting edge that during the NBA playoffs the teams get a chance to play in both their home teams arena AND their opponents, this gives both of their fans a chance to watch the game, and shows how a team can play in the comfort of their own arena and see how they fair in the pressure of their opponents.

"The teams in the NFL playoffs a lot of the time are of same skill level or have some leverage over the other team like in defense, or offense or sometimes their skills are equally compatible for the top 6 teams that makes it in each conference."

This is the exact same way the NBA is.

"The NFL overall is more entertaining just by how the system works making every year suspenseful"

This is so far not shown to be true.

==========
My arguments:
==========

The NBA is more entertaining not only for the reasons i gave above but for the following as well:

1. Fast paced. The games move along quicker and flow better than the NFL, during football the game pretty much stops after each down/play whereas basketball games only stop during a time out and/or a call is made such as a foul (where the game doesn't actually stop.)

2. Scoring, in basketball there is a lot more scoring a lot more frequently which keeps suspension up, and is just more entertaining.

3. Inside arena ( insert silly face here) When you watch a basketball game, the arena is much more comfortable, you don't have to worry about extreme weather conditions like heat, cold, rain/snow etc you can simply watch the game. Everyone enjoys a game more when they are comfortable!

Loserboi has yet to convince me that the NFL is more entertaining than the NBA, this is all I' giving for now, good luck to my opponent in the next round!

The NFL has existed for 60 years well the NBA championship at least. Those 60 years 2 teams have won over half the titles ever won. Boston Celtics and the L.A Lakers. In total only 17 teams have ever won the NBA championships out of 32 franchises. For the past 30 years there has been at least 1 team that has won and appeared in more than half of the NBA championship games which is a sign that the NBA is very predictable if a team can appear in over half the championship games.
2000-2009 Lakers won 4 championships but appeared in 6 of them
Spurs won 3 championships and appeare in 3 of them
Celtics, Pistons, and Heat won one title during this time
1990-1999 Chicago Bulls appeared in 6 championship games and won them all
Houston Rockets appeared in 2 of them and won 2
Pistons and Spurs won 1 during this time ( Spurs won in 1999 and continued their dominance in the 2000-2009 period)
1980-1989 Absurd Lakers and Celtics dominated this time
Lakers appeared in 8 championship games winning 5 of them
Celtics appeared in 5 championship games winning 3 times
76ers appeared in 3 championship games winning 1time
Detroit Pistons appeared in 2 championship games winning 1 time
In the 1980-1989 time period the western conference only had 2 teams that made the Finals Lakers and Rockets. The eastern Conference did not do that much better with 3 teams making the finals in the span of 10 years. This time period only 5 teams made the finals total thats completely disappointing and just proves that each time these teams made the championships it wasn't a shock or it stopped being a shock after the 2nd time was repeated.

1957- 1969 could probably be the most predictable time
Celtics appeared in all of the championship games during this time except for one and won 11times out of 13. The NBA's entire history is full of predictability.

The NFL has not seen such dominance in their league by 1 or 2 teams. The most championships won by a team are 6 by the Steelers 5 by the 49ers and 5 by the Cowboys. 27 teams total out of 32 teams have made the Superbowl in their history. No team in the NFL has ever won 3 superbowl rings in a row which just proves the outcome every year is hard to predict. Unlike the NBA where they have had multiple instances where a team has had 3 repeated championships like the Celtics, Bulls, Lakers. Even today the Lakers and Celtics still remain one of the dominant teams in the NFL.

This is sports not an experiment the outcome is not supposed to have an "accurate" answer that would be boring. Its not like an experiment where you mix blue and yellow and somehow got black and just keep repeating till you get the desired color. That is basically what my opponent just said when he compared the playoff structures to an experiment.
There is a reason for the 1 round elimination in the NFL it rewards the teams that won more games than the other teams with home field advantage. This make sense you reward the better team for their efforts in the regular season. This adds pressure to both teams, just because the team has home field advantage it does not give them a giant edge over their opponent. The home team might feel more pressure to win in front of their home crowd and the opposing team might feel more motivated to silence them. The same effect can work the other way.

NFL is completely different and unpredictable a good example is this year. The defending champion Pittsburg Steelers after winning a championship the year before failed to make the playoffs this year. The Saints went from no playoffs to Superbowl Champions. NFL is where the underdog always has a chance to win the superbowl. The one game elimination structure again like i said leaves no margin for error for both teams. This high risk game makes it entirely more interesting than a 7 game series where the difference in skill shows up eventually towards the end in the series. The NBA only had one instance where the 8th seed team has made the NBA finals the NFL has had multiple events where the wild card team has won the Superbowl. Most recent was the New York Giants beating the undefeated New England Patriots. The NFL is where unpredictable happens where the underdog can have one lucky game and be the champion. The NBA needs luck to happen 4 times for the underdog to win one series which most likely will not happen and has been proven by history.

1. Fast paced. The games move along quicker and flow better than the NFL, during football the game pretty much stops after each down/play whereas basketball games only stop during a time out and/or a call is made such as a foul (where the game doesn't actually stop.)
It is true that the NFL stops every down but its to regroup and think of a new strategy, reading the defense, reading the offense, the NFL gameplan requires planning and sometimes quick action unlike the NBA where they just hand the ball off to the superstar player like Kobe and LeBron. The NFL has to plan to either run the ball, pass the ball, play action, the nba does not have as sophisticated type of play. The NFL is more interesting for another reason and that reason is that its a contact sport, each player is encouraged to hit each other and seeing players make a big hit or evade a tackler makes the game very exciting. The NBA is so strict on contact that it gets boring with so many useless fouls from small contact slowing down the game. The varieties of plays in the NFL makes it more suspenseful for the audience and makes it more exciting to see.

3. Inside arena ( insert silly face here) When you watch a basketball game, the arena is much more comfortable, you don't have to worry about extreme weather conditions like heat, cold, rain/snow etc you can simply watch the game. Everyone enjoys a game more when they are comfortable!

It's more comfortable but the action stays the same, It is the same for every single game in the NBA, play inside best conditions no problem, the NFL has to play in hard rain, hard show, Hot weather, sunny weather (blinds on punt returns and receptions) a change or addition of difficulty adds a twist to the game and makes the audience understand how difficult it is for these players to play under these conditions. It's more comfortable but its not as exciting as seeing players deal with the elements and putting their bodies on the line.

Another proof that the NFL is more entertaining is how many people watch it compared the NBA. The Superbowl is the most watched sporting event every year.

Like i said in my last argument the NFL is more interesting because not the same team wins every year.
2 teams have not completely dominated the NBA throughout its entire existence like the Lakers and Celtics have.
The NFL is a contact sport where every time the ball is hiked someone might get hit really badly whereas the NBA someone gets tapped its a automatic foul.
The weather conditions add a twist to the game, makes it a lot more interesting instead of the same indoor scenery every single game.
The NFL gets higher ratings than the NBA, in fact out of the 3 major sports MLB, NFL, and NBA the NBA receives the lowest ratings which is why their salary cap is so low.
The NFL playoff system is a one game elimination which makes for a very good game because both teams understand they both can not afford to slip and there is no "next time" unlike the NBA where the teams get multiple chances.
The NBA playoff structure might as well be a 1 game elimination structure because the favorite to win usually does, most of the NBA finals have not went past a 4-2 series. over the past decade half of the outcomes resulted in a 4-1 or 4-0(swept) series and only one finals went to a game 7 series. Those are not really interesting series to watch to see a team dominate over another.
There is my summary
