For centuries, The problem of Evil has been the champion in Epicurean Philosophy which then evolved into modern Scientism which is a philosophy that many people hold to today. I challenge that the Problem of Evil rather then being good evidence against the existence of God is on the contrary baseless and actually points to the existence of God. My opponent must show then, That the problem of evil is indeed a good argument against the existence of God.

Con

there is no problem of evil, as evil cant exist without good, so in order for god to get rid of evil, he must make good cease to exist, and thus existence would cease as well

Can someone just ban vi_spex? He goes around, making absolutely retarted debates just for the fun of it, and ruins it for everyone else.

Actually positive can exist without negative. This isn't a fantasy game. balance isn't needed. And your coin reference is the definition of bs. They aren't sides of a coin, they are contrasting elements. In the case of evil, Evil isn't the counterpart to good, it is the absence of good. Good isn't the absence of evil. That aren't two sides of the same coin.

But I'll end this discussion, since it isn't my debate.

positive cant exist without negative, take a magnet as an example

and there can be no positive and negative without a balancing point

it has all 3 sides

trinity=a coin has head, tail, and a side to balance them

without a contrast, there can be no white is what it means

how can there be a true equation, if there is no false equation?

if darkness couldn't exist light couldn't exist, im not saying you cant be in a white room.. im talking about the existence of white, your memories, your imagination, reality, no white contrast, you would cease to exist at the same moment as white

I should have a better explanation for this, but this is what it is, it shows an error

who is a good person, if no one ever did anything bad? how do you know who is good? without a contrast, no such thing can exist, consider you have no recollection of anything bad ever happening, how can the word good mean anything?

White without black is white. How is it anything else? Does it suddenly become green? Perhaps it's now Red. Yes of course. It's red. Silly me.

Evil needs good (or rather the idea of good) to exist as Evil is that which is not Good. Good is not that which is not evil. Good still exists, just as light still exists even if there is no darkness in the universe.

You haven't explained why you require a negative in order to have a positive. You're just restating the same pseudo-philosophy. Too many cheesy video games I think.

So..... Con accepted a debate where it was stipulated that he must show why the problem of evil is a good argument.... but decides to open with the claim that there is no problem of evil? Con might as well have forfeited.....

what is white without black?

without the contrast of evil, there is no good

anything that exist has an opposite for it to exist, and everything that exist has at least 3 sides for it to exist

if darkness cant exist, light cant exist, there is no such thing as just white(consider all your memories and imagination would not contain white either, so no free will, no contrast)
