I thank my opponent for joining this debate.
I think or better yet, I know that "The Reduction in Brirtsh VAT from 17.5% to 15% was a Good Strategy" for many different reasons. What does my opponent have to say about this?
(The real debate starts in round two!)

No, I think that was not a good strategy. Why? Considering that Britain is a first world country and the previous recession, they don't have to lessen the tax because it can only harm their economy.

My opponent would not rebuttal.

I just want to say each person has his own perspective of everything but it is not sometimes right, like you.

Thank you.

Haha, sorry about that. I mistyped to debate title and then just copied and pasted it into my debate - I can spell the name of my own country, don't worry lol!

Come on Babers, I know you are just a kid but surely you know how to spell the name of your own country?

I can accept typos but you repeated the mistake you made in the title in the text!

If you change it, even though I am a supporter of the Labour Party whose policy the reduction was, I will accept this debate and explain why it disproportionately benefits the rich and a lowering of the income tax threshold would have been fairer way to increase consumer demand.

From my understanding, the rate deduction was a smoke screen, who's paying for it ?
Recently I read a political article that stated it was the low wage bracket, those people that were on around 15k, young families starting out in life.

It's not a subject I would want to research further, otherwise I would pick up the gauntlet, but good luck on your challenge, I'll be watching !

Interesting. I would argue this based on the reductions to the Canadian version of a VAT, but there is always differences in regions and etc. I'll do some research and we'll see - I may take this yet.

Good topic!
