1st round is for accepting the debate. For anyone living in the U.K. this is clearly a vital and very divisive motion. The attitudes of main political parties should remain irrelevant.

I accept,

I will argue otherwise that the UK garnered more loss than benefits by being part of the EU. You may state your case.

My opponent and I agreed this debate should be postponed.

Please leave it as a tie as my opponent was busy and was on sick leave. Thank you

This debate will not be continued, we're going to restart the debate. My own issues with being able to post the first argument were the reason.

Some current EU corruption statistics pertaining to the UK are:
Percent of population of the opinion that corruption is widespread: 64% (12% below Union average)
Government efforts to combat corruption are effective (poll): 29%
Enough successful prosecutions against corruption to deter it: 26%
Estimated total euros lost each year to corruption in the EU: At least 120 billion

I'm just saying. May just be the usual cynicism, but you never know.

The question isn't whether or not it benefits but if the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
