No. The reason is because ware in 2013 now and many things have changed. So maturity of that individual is vital to our society. If you lower the age it will make the death rate of violent arguments and driving accidents in the U.S. which is not an option for our society.
If they lowered the age of drinking then maybe we wouldn't have so much illegal drinking, and maybe we wouldn't have so many accidents evolving teens. Then teens wouldn't be afraid to say hey I need someone to take me home. Right now they think oh I have no one to call because I will get in trouble. Also have you looked at Germany the drinking age is 16, and they are doing just fine. Also they wouldn't be afraid to stay home and drink because it would be legal for them to drink.
