I want to see if anyone can give any good reasons for continuing the war on iraq. Seeing as the person we went in looking for left a while ago, and the fact that we seem to be running around in their country causing more harm than good. Personally i think its a waste of time. While we spend billions of dollars just to keep up a useless presence over there our economy is crashing, granted they predict a recovery but until then what are we to do? It seems as though the only thing we do over there is run around and make the locals angry, which in turn provides ever willing recruits into the known terrorist organizations. If any one can provide good reasons for our presence please, by all means accept. :)

Thank you for starting this debate.

Before I start, let me say that I am against the war in Iraq. Though, I am against spending money, but spend it I must.

Your argument is filled with fallacies.

You claim that the USA needs to leave Iraq because they have already found the person they went in for.

The United States is still looking for people, just with smaller names.

There are still Terrorist that the United States army is trying to find.

You claim that the United States is just "running around.

Do you know what they are doing over there?

Their original goal was to help the citizens of Iraq start a form of government again.

They have made progress, but if we pull out now then the people will again fall, and some other person may try to take over.

Our time over there would be wasted.

The USA is always going over to people's countries trying to help, there would be a chance that the USA would go back to Iraq if a evil leader took over.

Please explain all the harm we are doing to the Iraq nation.

You say that we spend billions of dollars just to keep up a useless presence over there. Again we are not being useless.

I will list a few more reasons below and will expound on them in round two.

The United States is still looking for weapons that were never found.

When the troops pull out of Iraq they will most likely be shipped to Afghanistan.

Thank you again.

First of all when I said the man we went looking for left a while ago, what I meant was the U.S. now believes that he is living in the Pakistan border. Second granted if we left their democracy would probably collapse, but if we did we could put more of that money towards reestablishment the economy. You say that most of the troops would be sent to Afghanistan. Notice what is happening over there so far we are technically at war with three middle eastern nations, and the rest, are all out to get us. My dad is a soldier in Iraq and he says while alot of the locals "like" our presence there are many groups over there who just want us out. You also said that "if" another evil leader took over we could end up back over there. Yeah we might but we also "might" go to war with Pakistan. I believe its time the U.S. stopped fighting for others and tried to fix itself. Our country is rolling down a steep slope and we need support from the government which cannot be given while we spend all that money on the other side of the world making people angry. Same goes for Israel

Thank you for posting your next argument.

Before I start, let me say that your whole argument needs to be clearer.

You basically just listed point of views.

"First of all when I said the man we went looking for left a while ago, what I meant was the U.S. now believes that he is living in the Pakistan border."

You did not clarify this by saying who USA was looking for.

You just said "the man." There are a lot of people who we are looking for in Iraq.

You must be more specific.

The people that the United States want are called the "Iraq playing cards".

They are some of the worst terrorist that have threatened both the United States, and the Iraq citizens.

I listed a link to read in source three of my previous argument.

"Granted if we left their democracy would probably collapse, but if we did we could put more of that money towards reestablishment the economy"

I can not argue this until round three because you have also failed to specify which economy.

Are you speaking of the United States' or Iraq's?

Please be clearer.

"Notice what is happening over there so far we are technically at war with three [M]iddle [E]astern nations, and the rest, are all out to get us."

What are you trying to show here?

Please explain in your last argument.

"My dad is a soldier in Iraq and he says while a[ ]lot of the locals "like" our presence there are many groups over there who just want us out."

Did you know that a lot of people like the police patrolling their neighborhood, but a lot of people don't?

We can not leave just because there are some people who want us out.

Just like Police men can't leave just because some people want them out.

I stated a chance that an evil leader may rise and you will not even consider that?

In your first argument you said you wanted to see if anyone could give some reasons for staying.

I did, and still am.

Our country is hurting, but not going down.

It is actually slowly getting back on track.

But do you know what we are suffering from?

Unemployment.

Do you really think that the United States could help all those soldiers get a job once they come back home?

And do you really think that the Government will use the money for the people of the United States?

The United States has a war budget, if we stop putting money into Iraq, it will simply go into Afghanistan.

Do you believe that we should not put money into helping other people from other countries?

If so, then that means you also believe that we should not spend any money on helping Haiti.

Did you know that some people want us there and some people don't?

Please remember that this debate is not about Israel.

You have not attempted to refute my weapons claim, so I will continue to talk about that.

One of the big reasons we are still in Iraq is to find the weapons that Saddam Hussein had in possession.

We never found these weapons, which make people say that there not there.

But that is exactly what Japan said before Hiroshima.

I believe we should leave Iraq at the end of 2010, but leaving right now would not be a good idea.

You failed to answer my question about harming the Iraq nation.

In a fair debate you must answer your opponent.

You can not pick and chose what you want to say.

I encourage you to make a stronger and clearer point in your last argument.

Audience, even though there is still another round, I heavily urge a Pro vote.

"The United States is still looking for weapons that were never found." - The lack of them would be explained by their non-existence

Well, the sad fact is if the U.S. left the current Iraq democracy would collapse.

Why have the U.S. been at war from the day they set foot on Indian territory ?, U.S. = "war", a military base in 130 countries,= imperialism, sad but true !,, wipe the sleep from your eyes, I've made coffee, and it smells nice. ;-)
