How can their be such a place mentioned where your soul is tortured for eternity? In the bible it describes hell as being fiery and satin will have your soul burning in an eternal pit of fire where every waking moment you will feel physical pain! how can you feel physical pain if you are a soul? it doesn't fit in with science. I've been through hell here on earth and there are people (and even children) who are tortured behind societies' backs. And what are christians doing!? giving their money to the church so that they can build more churches. They don't understand the true pain that each individual goes through. Did you know that the gay community is the number one people committing suicide. especially gay teens.

Thank you, Pro, for this debate. I will clearly demonstrate that the Biblical hell is worse than anything one could possibly experience on this planet.

Counterpoint 1: You argued: "How can you feel physical pain if you are a soul? It doesn't fit in with science."

1.1:'There is nothing in the Bible saying at in hell, your soul does not take up mass. If your soul takes up mass, that means it must have matter. Therefore, you could indeed feel physical pain. It is just like when people go to the biblical heaven. They take up space, and that is probably why God is expanding the heavens [1], and to reiterate that means they must take up space in hell. There is nothing in the Bible saying that hell is not also expanding.

Counterpoint 1.2: our souls, assuming that they exist, still take up space in our bodies. They could be located in the small space between our bloodstream and the first layer of our skin.

Counterpoint 2: You argued: "I've been through hell here on earth and there are people (and even children) who are tortured behind societies' backs. And what are christians doing!? giving their money to the church so that they can build more churches. They don't understand the true pain that each individual goes through."

2.1: whatever have gone through here on Earth is by no means worse than hell. In hell, mind you, you burn up, get tortured horribly, can never escape, have demons and Satan staring at you, and worst of all, know that all you would have had to do to get to heaven was to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Is any earthly thing worse? I think not.

2.2 Pro, I would like a source for the part about Christians giving their money to the church so they can build more churches. Also, Christians could be trying to help the tortured people, just trying to find them first so they can actually do that.

Wrong Lolzors: You have no evidence for his resurrection.
No NT scholar has ever been able to demonstrate any evidence outside of the Bible.
Evidence within the Bible is not evidence.
Just ask Bart Ehrman:

He is a highly qualified NT scholar, his knowledge is far greater than yours.

@ Loveshismom, my commenting here has nothing 2 do with you, I stumbled in on the Topic, not who was debating It. If you argue well, I'll compliment you, if not I'll say so.

Since the resurrection is false, then so is the ascension and thus the Divinity of Jesus is also False.
The whole premise of Christianity thus becomes fallacious.

You cannot win there,
I have far more knowledge of this than yourself.
I too studied religious history and know full well, all Jesus really did was introduce Jews to Buddhist and Confucian teachings.
That is all Jesus did.
He dd not achieve divinity and thus is not a God.
He was not born to a virgin either.
His dad was most probably a Roman soldier.

**There is no evidence Jesus Christ was resurrected, no evidence for his ascension.**
Actually, on the contrary, there is.
**So evidently, Jesus never got to Heaven and became God.**
That does not follow. Even if there were no evidence (though there is), it would not infer that He did not ascend to Heaven, let alone disprove the claim that He was God, which He was on earth.
**Is an Argument Out Of Ignorance Fallacy.**
You might want to rehearse yourself with logical fallacies. This is not an argument out of ignorance.
**Just as the entire concept of Hell existing and people being sent there without any chance of redemption is also Irrational and definitely means that The God of the Bible is Nothing Like A Loving God... Hell is proof that the Bible God is a Malevolent, Narcissistic, Megalomaniac, Dictator.**
This does not follow.

BTW Lolzors: There is no evidence Jesus Christ was resurrected, no evidence for his ascension.

So evidently, Jesus never got to Heaven and became God.
Thus your comment: "Doing deeds for Christ, His love, and His kingdom is an actual good work. Thus, we give in the name of Christ, and do things for the furtherance of Christ's kingdom. Sure, we ache for those oppressed and hurt for the wounded, just as Jesus Himself does."
Is an Argument Out Of Ignorance Fallacy.

Because there is no evidence for its truthfulness.

That's a FACT!

Con is making a whole lot of Crap up, there is nothing in the Bible that states Souls take up space and that Hell is expanding. Just idiotic junk out of his tiny delusional fantasy.

Pain is an illusion on Earth, created by several different structures, one of those structures changes and your illusion of pain also changes. That's the science of it.
The reason pain exists is to signal us that our organs are being damaged, a soul has no reason to protect organs, thus no reason for pain sensors and structures to produce the signals from those structures.
Thus the concept of Pain in Hell is extremely Irrational.

Just as the entire concept of Hell existing and people being sent there without any chance of redemption is also Irrational and definitely means that The God of the Bible is Nothing Like A Loving God.
Hell is proof that the Bible God is a Malevolent, Narcissistic, Megalomaniac, Dictator.

Besides, if Hell did exist, and you wanted to meet your loved ones and relatives after death, Hell would be the place to go, as 98% of your friends, relatives and loved ones would be in Hell.
Those retarded loonies that make it to Heaven are not the kind of idiots anybody would want to spend an eternity with.
Ten hours with such clowns and you would wish you were in Hell.

Because extreme Christian fundamentalists are the dumbest people you can ever meet.
They make the kind of arguments Con is making.

**How can their be such a place mentioned where your soul is tortured for eternity?**
Hell is both spiritual and physical punishment.
**In the bible it describes hell as being fiery and satin will have your soul burning in an eternal pit of fire where every waking moment you will feel physical pain!**
God punishes you, not Satan.
**how can you feel physical pain if you are a soul? it doesn't fit in with science.**
Hell is both spiritual and physical punishment. There will be a resurrection of both the righteous, to eternal life, and the unrighteous, to eternal death.
**I've been through hell here on earth and there are people (and even children) who are tortured behind societies' backs.**
Hell is nothing like it here on earth. God, the creator of the universe, the maker of worlds, the person who created the hottest of stars and the coldest of voids, the being who determines logic itself, afflicting His wrath upon you is nothing like pain in this world.
**And what are christians doing!? giving their money to the church so that they can build more churches. They don't understand the true pain that each individual goes through. Did you know that the gay community is the number one people committing suicide. especially gay teens.**
Whats the difference between a dead work and one of righteousness? The difference is that of reverence. Doing deeds for Christ, His love, and His kingdom is an actual good work. Thus, we give in the name of Christ, and do things for the furtherance of Christ's kingdom. Sure, we ache for those oppressed and hurt for the wounded, just as Jesus Himself does.
