I believe that the death penalty should be banned in all countries in the world that it already has been. This is due to because there is a much easier way to act on criminals who have committed such harsh crimes e.g murder, this is life imprisonment. Not only, is the human not being killed he is being locked behind bars for the rest of his life if his case is valid. Serious and life changing mistakes have proven to happen with the death penalty being instated in many states in the US, with the victim being later after his death proven innocent thus the death penalty can lead to loss of life which is unnecessary. An example of this is, in the basis of mistaken identification and coerced confessions, Keaton was sentenced to death for murdering an off duty deputy sheriff during a robbery. The State Supreme Court reversed the conviction and granted Keaton a new trial because of newly discovered evidence. Charges were dropped and he was released after the actual killer was identified and convicted. Counter arguing the fact that this similar event might take place but switching roles there is clear evidence that their are significantly more examples of this. There is no way to tell how many of the more than 1,450 people executed since 1976 may also have been innocent. Courts do not generally entertain claims of innocence when the defendant is dead. Defense attorneys move on to other cases where clients' lives can still be saved. This is known as wrongful execution is where I base my argument for the opening. Therefor I believe that the death penalty should be completely abolished from all the states of America.

Actually, i disagree with you there should be more death sentence. Not behind bars for the rest of their life's. They get three meals a day and a shower and in some case watch tv, really. For killing people they live with no worries. So the death penalty should be more of them in place. But only for people that kill multiple people, or torture them.

I have a better solution. How about you and anyone else who is against the death penalty pay 25% more tax to house, feed and shelter the murderous animal in jail for life while I get a tax break for wanting the vermin to be exterminated for taking innocent lives.
