Clear and concise, define truth.
aburk903

Con

Thanks for the debate pro. A good clear and concise definition of truth (which is all that is required according to the title of the debate) is "the quality or state of being true". Thank you.

Con/Webster has spoken, believe it gluttons.

No contradiction to my proposed definition has been made, and as such I extend the previous round. I truly hope that this debate may evolve into something academic as opposed to name calling.

Sorry, I did degeneraTE INTO MY WORST HATRED THERE, and pardon the caps, I have fat fingers and they smacked the caps lock accidentally, el mucho appologeto senor. are you qualified to define the truth? your imagination tells you so like most, and because you believe, so should I? prove your version, to everyone, not just you.
aburk903

Con

I am not qualified individually to propose an empirical definition of truth, but I have presented one that is most commonly accepted and as such is functional. If my opponent chooses to question the qualifications of Webster and other similar dictionary compilers, that may be addressed in the subsequent rounds. This debate is not about what things are true or if truth can exist with exestinital doubt,it was merely framed in a way that requested only the definition of the word truth.

tomorrow will be time enough to argue one more time, because it is all for fun in my eyes. Goodnight, and thanks for that battle of literary delight! Time to go to bed. sleep tight, and think on it.
aburk903

Con

I'd like to remind my opponent that there is only one remaining round. Additional arguments from my opponent are welcome, but there will be no period for him to offer additional rebuttal beyond that.

Oops haha, sorry, wasn't thinking straight there. "Assuming a implies b, if b is not true, a must not be true"/

I like "that which is in accordance with fact or reality", though I'm not sure this grasps the definition of truth as an abstraction (e.g. "assuming a implies b, if b is not true, a must be true" is always a true statement, regardless of whether it is tied to something concrete.

Reasons for voting decision: Forfeit, and pro's only contention is that he (pro) is too fat to correct his own typing mistakes. What that has to do with the resolution, is quite beyond me.
