PRO must argue, with proper sources and reasoning, that the current gender wage gap (1) in the US that is unfairly distributed in favor of male BECAUSE of sexual discrimination. The PRO must prove that the majority of the gender wage gap is due to sexual discrimination, whilst CON must prove that it is only a minority factor.

I accept. I look forward to your argument.
I will be arguing that, on balance, women make less than men because of discrimination.

Women do not make statistically significant less than men when comparing apples to apples (e.g. amount of time at current position, strength of company, education and work history, etc.); however, they are often passed up for employment and promotions based on sexual discrimination. The sexual discrimination being that men work, and women stay home. This hinders their ability, perceived and otherwise, to make more money in the sense of getting more hours and promotions, thus they are relegated to the lower income jobs.

The most notable example of this is men walking out on women, who then must be limit their availability to take care of their children, which naturally inhibits are promotion to a salaried position. If one were to look at the Bureau of Labor Statistics, you can clearly see that women work in low paying jobs much more than men almost 2:1. The likely reason, they are duty-bound to their children and homes.

No, Pro, you misunderstand my argument.
Women make similar amounts in the same job, but women as a whole make less than men as a whole because of the sexual discrimination. The issue is because women are stuck with the kids, because it is acceptable for a deadbeat dad to walkout on his kids, but not okay for mom. And, with couples, it generally comes down to the woman to take care of the family.

On a side note not relevant to the debate, I think it is standard practice to word the resolution in a manner that makes the instigator Pro, to avoid confusion both to judges and any potential challenger. (Pro on left, Con on right).
For example, the resolution could have read "The gender wage gap in the US is mostly not because of discrimination", which you would be Pro.

Why don't you accept regardless? Arguing against your own views is thrilling, you ought to give it a try.

I don't think it is right to force one side to argue a specific point.

I came here with "yes, I'm going to get to rip apart some ignorant feminazi" but then you were con.
