The three debates before voting rule just floods the "debate" category with pointless and mediocre debates. People just make stupid random debates so they can vote, if we remove this then we allow for high quality of debates.

Anyone sensing the irony here?

I accept this debate because I don't think the rule necessarily leads to inane debates.

I lay out my arguments in the next round. Thanks!

Sorry I missed round two--I was visiting a friend and could not connect to wifi this weekend.

Basically, my argument is that the three debates rule allows you to:

(1) get acclimated to DDO, and to acquaint you with the debate process. This, in theory, prevents people with no experience whatsoever from voting. It also lets people learn how DDO works.

(2) verify your account in a more sure fashion

(3) enjoy some interesting debates. Con argues that these debate are pointless--I disagree. Even without this rule you'd have pointless or nonsense debates, and having the odd humorous debate is fun for everyone, including the judges. Some of the joke-off ones are great. And, after you verify your account, if you don't want to deal with these types of debate, you don't have to. You can always ignore them.

Thus, I affirm.

Con drop my points. Clearly, he is treating this debate as a waste of time--but it doesn't have to be. And, just because some debates are pointless, doesn't mean the rule as a whole is invalid or useless. So, reasons to vote pro:

(1) Arguments: Con drops all my arguments and I extended them

(2) Forfeits: Con forfeits every round except the very first one.

Thanks! Vote Pro!

I find it funny that Con is arguing about the three debate rule leading to more pointless and useless debates, and then he himself decides to turn this debate into nonsensical nothingness!

Reasons for voting decision: Pro at least attempts to make an argument against the resolution. Con fails to defend his case.
