The war in china is completely ridiculous. The U.S. needs to pull out their troops from Nanjing. If we don't then it could result in World War II part B! Just last year there was a similar conflict between Mesopitamia and Prussia. It resulted in ethnic cleansing of all the Aryians. According to prophecy, Kurt Vonnegut was born in blood to a german english dictionary. Therefore Neil Patrick Harris has the sorcerer's stone.

I thank my opponent and await their response.

Thank you for starting this wonderful debate.

1. The war in China exists.
"The war in china is completely ridiculous."
By calling it ridiculous, my opponent concedes that it exists.

2. Anything that exists is essential.
Essential - 1. of, relating to, or constituting essence (http://www.merriam-webster.com...)
Essence - 2. something that exists (http://www.merriam-webster.com...)

3. The war in China is essential.

According to http://www.merriam-webster.com..., one definition of essential is "of the utmost importance"
in fact this definition was found directly under my opponents definition.
If my opponent knew how to use context clues, then he might have understood which definition I was implying.
Good try though.

Sorry, but because you failed to provide a definition during the first round, and I posted my definition first, my definition stands while your definition falls. As the first person to try an interpretation of the resolution, I get to interpret the resolution. I accepted this debate on the fact that essential could mean, "in existence," so not allowing my definition would be abuse of resolution. Nice try.

well then I am abusing the resolution. and yeah you tried to to make an interpretation "as the first person to try an interpretation of the resolution" but you failed miserably. I would say nice try but it wasn't. It's like they always say, "You can't stick both hands in the gerble jar and expect to pull out roots." MK ultra -out.

Um...

1. The war in China exists.

2. Anything that exists is essential.

3. The war in China is essential.

All of my opponent's arguments are irrelevant to the point, because he never attempted to disprove my definitions, and all of his arguments were about how we shouldn't be part of the war in China, which is irrelevant.

After that last round, I'm not even going to thank you.

Ah, now I wish that Phil hadn't removed my opponent's cussing from the debate. I'd have won the conduct.

You know, the conduct vote would have been more obvious if you saw his last argument BEFORE it was cleaned for swearing.

+ Conduct to CON, because PRO argued semantics -- semantics that were obviously maliciously false. I felt personally insulted that PRO thought that I would buy his argument.

+ English to PRO for obvious reasons.

+ Argument is a wash, because PRO bastardized the debate, leading it nowhere.

+ Normally I don't count definitions as sources, but PRO utterly abused his source. Sources goes to CON.

Not really, because my opponent never gave any definitions whatsoever, so you have to go with mine for the sake of this debate.

It is supposed to encourage people to define their debates properly.

now just because you offer definitions first doesnt mean yours can always stand as the voters its up to us to determine which definitions we think better fit the case
