This argument may seem a little racist; I assure you that is not my intention. I believe the world would be a better place is everyone was the same race because these days there are so many wars and fights all because of race. People kill others simply because they may be darker or lighter. In some countries, people are refused education, and other rights they should have as a citizen are also not avalible. Society has moved forward immensely in the last century in accepting people regardless of race, and treating all as equal. However, this does not mean we are even close to how it really should be. If we were all the same colour, there would be many fewer wars and fights. Racism is a problem you hear about every day; it is relevant to almost every situation. It is one of the greatest problems in the world at the moment, and maybe the number one reason for all the hostility and hate. Some would probably point out that religion is also a large part of this, and maybe even more anger and hatred is related to religion. However, I would not like us all to be the same religion; we choose what to believe, we cannot all believe the same things. Skin colour, on the other hand, is something that we are born as we are; it is not our choice.

You're absolutely wrong. Race is something that people can get passed; it's religion that causes the conflict. Your argument would have some clout if no persons of the same race ever harmed one another. The truth is, there are people of the same race killing each other at this very moment. The world would not be a better place if everyone was the same race and it is foolish to believe so.

<>

Yes, and in some countries women are refused education, based on their sex. Do you also agree that the world would be a better place if everyone was male? That is essentially the same argument that you're making.

<>

You're right, but race isn't the true and ultimate division between people -- it's religion.

<>

If we were all the same color, there would be just as many wars and fights because mankind is primitive and uncivilized. It's just that simple.

<>

You're right.

<>

This is the most backwards way of thinking that I've ever encountered. Eliminate folks based on race, but not religion because (presumably) white people should be able to believe in what they want, as they're not prone to violence.

<> Religion isn't typically a choice. Most people are indoctinated into their religion beginning in infancy through baptism. Your argument is so unbelievable, I honestly don't know what to make of it. I'm flummoxed in a very new way by your posts that seem very racist. There's no way you're going to win this debate for the sheer fact that you cannot prove the world would be a better place if everyone were the same race.

Would the ocean be cleaner? Would the environment and ecosystem suddenly cease? Would global warming no longer be an issue? Would men and women suddenly be equals and receive equal pay for the same fields of work? Would homophobia disappear, since all the gays and lesbians would be of the same race too? Would atheists also be accepted, as they're the same race, even though they tell every theist on the planet that they're idiots for their beliefs? Please, tell me in what ways the world would be a better place if we were all the same race, because last time I checked we were... the Human Race, and we've still found ways to divide ourselves from our own kind.

Yes, you are right. Perhaps there is a larger division between religions than there is between races. But I'm not talking about religion, I'm talking about race. There would still be hatred if we were all the same race, but there would be less. Therefore your constant mention of religion is besides the point. And yes, there are people of the same race killing each other, therefore that would continue if we were the same race. However, killing people because of their colour would stop. My argument is not saying the world would be perfect. It is saying the world would be better.

<>

If everyone was male, there would be no reproduction and the human race would die out. Everyone being the same colour would not have even nearly as drastic consequences. Therefore, that argument is not at all like mine.

<>

You are trying to say that I want the only race to be white. You are wrong. I did not mean eliminating other races, I meant mixing them all together.

<>

Us all being the same race would not clean the ocean and help the environment and etc. Like I stated before, it would not make it a perfect world. It would improve it. And you ask how the world would be a better place? Well there would be fewer wars, less hatred and less fighting. If you think that doesn't make the world better, then I cannot understand the way in which you think.

<>

There would not be less. People would simply find other reasons to discriminate. Statistically, there would be no inter-racial violence, but there would still be just as much because it is the way of many to fight.

<>

Yes, it would continue, but you're completely ignoring the problems that would arise if we were all the same race. Man is very creative and to disregard this ability is foolish. Humans are territorial above all things and would not cease this behavior just because they shared the same skin color as their neighbor.

<>

That's your assumption. You obviously haven't thought this out very far. You're ignoring the need that many share for feeling and thinking they are superior to others -- by eliminating an obvious dividing trait, the efforts of such people will grow out of proportion.

<>

Again, you're wrong. Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths and will ultimately bring us together. Color is an easy reminder for us to be respectful of others and even be kinder individuals. To be just one race eliminates so much of our greatness. Would we be better if we all cut off our left arms because they oppose our right arms? That is what your argument suggests. It is our uniquenesses that require us to work at being a better race and canceling that out would only bring us closer to self-annihilation.

<>

It is... you just can't see it.

<>

As I've stated, we're already one race. Mixing the races wouldn't make a difference for those that are predisposed to ignorance and violence.

<>

How many wars are currently being fought based on color? None. You're deluding yourself if you think there would be less hatred and fighting. Also, you've only made claims and haven't backed up any of your claims with a single shred of evidence that suggests you're right. You have the burden of proof as the Pro of this debate, which you did nothing about. Your argument has merit, but it lacks strength.

Thank you for the debate!

How about we make racially homogeneous countries? Look at the success of Japan!

I agree with pro's argument, but I don't feel like reading the whole debate so I won't vote. But yeah, there was some study a while back and it said Racism is natural and started from the beginning of humanity. It only leads to conflict.

Well done on both sides, but I think the burden of proof was on pro, and pro didn't address the problem shown in the Dr. Seuss story "The Sneetches." No one can deny that differences in appearance/race incite violence, but in order to prove that a single global race would experience less violence, you need to argue that once everyone looks the same, they won't find something else to attack each other for. Seems to me that people like identifying with groups, and as long as that persists, so will conflict.
