There is cognitive dissonance in believing in Christianity and anarchism. The main reasons is that anarchism has been and is anti authoritarianism and against the ruling class. To believe in in the Christian god is a contradiction to anarchist belief because god is a murderous genocidal dictator who advocated violence war and intolerance of other beliefs. Christianity greatest flaw is "hell" the infinite torture of other humans for finite crimes. Christianity promotes subservience to authority without question. The church and the state and many monarchs where able to use it to bring about massive wars and violence. In conclusion there is cognitive dissonance in believing in Christianity which is authoritarian and non-voluntarism and anarchism which rejects rejects authoritarianism. To believe in both of these is to reject the state but worship another one at the same time.

There is not a cognitive dissonance in believing in Christianity and Anarchism.

The main reason for this is:
A.) God is not a 'murderous genocide dictator who advocated violence war and intolerance of other beliefs' as my opponent claims. God advocated peace and happiness, not murder and intolerance.
B.) Hell is not an place that is used to force people into believing Christianity. Instead it is a reminder that there are negative consequences for negative actions, just like heaven is used as a reminder that there are also positive consequences for our positive actions
C.) Christianity dose not promote 'subservience to authority without question', instead Christianity promotes the way we should live. Christianity wants people to ask questions, the reasoning is that the more questions a person asks the more they will understand, and become closer to God
D.) Christianity is not an authoritarian, what Christianity truly is, is the belief in a God that gives guidance, and something to believe.
In conclusion there is not a cognitive dissonance in believing in Christianity and Anarchism, because of the facts that God advocated peace and happiness, Hell is a reminder that there are negative consequences for negative actions, and heaven is a reminder that there are positive consequences for our positive actions, Christianity promotes the way we should live, and wants people to ask questions, and because Christianity is not an authoritarian.

"God advocated peace and happiness, not murder and intolerance."

Thus saith the LORD of hosts ... go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ***.1 Samuel 15:2-3
Oh what tolerance does this god have perhaps less cruel and harsh than gods before it. This does not then justify the violence. The Bible was obviously written by man. Savages who knew nothing but followed dogmatic rituals and traditions of a barbaric culture. This also shows the nature of the god what type of person is he? Can we say that he is even moral? I would say not to our standards today in a more civilized society, but the reason why god is so unethical because he is a character perpetuated by the ideas and beliefs of people of that time.

"Hell is not an place that is used to force people into believing Christianity."

If god created everything then he created hell. If god knew about the suffering that would be inflicted then why would he create such a ghastly place? In many cases through out the bible it tells us the terrible things that should happen to sinners. Hell is a imaginary place created by man to put fear in people who question or try to reject this dogmatic ideology.

"Christianity dose not promote 'subservience to authority without question', instead Christianity promotes the way we should live."

Christianity is not a way of life rather it was the a way in which rulers and the church where able to keep the people indoctrinated and to enjoy there own mental slavery. Fear is the tool of the powerful to manipulate the masses and sure did the rulers love a god who told them to fear him and yet love him at the same time? What a contradiction this is, but somehow Christians simply ignore this.

"Christianity is not an authoritarian, what Christianity truly is, is the belief in a God that gives guidance, and something to believe."

Christianity was the perfect manipulative ideology in the tool bag of a authoritarian because it could make the mindless masses follow the rulers will.

In conclusion I have refuted the claims about Christianity and I believe that it does not contain the anarchist values or beliefs. Anarchism is the rejection of such powerful institutions as Christianity and the State. Nietzsche said it best...

"Christianity was from the beginning, essentially and fundamentally, life's nausea and disgust with life, merely concealed behind, masked by, dressed up as, faith in "another" or "better" life."
_Friedrich Nietzsche

Reasons for voting decision: Countering Ore_Ele's since Con conceded. Although on arguments I thought Con could have certainly refuted Pro, simply with the differentiation between religious and political philosophy. Anarchism is not a theory of religion, but one of societal structure. Therefore it has nothing to say of Christianity. However, I have to go to Pro for the concession.
