The-Voice-of-Truth

Pro

First round is acceptance, second round is argument, third is conclusion. In the last round, no more arguments and rebuttals can be made, just wrap up your arguments.
Benshapiro

Con

I accept.
Debate Round No. 1
Benshapiro

Con

Pro gives an argument "."

This does not uphold his BoP to show that this is not a debate.

Furthermore, this is a "debate" created on "debate.org" that has a specified structure and organization outlined in the first round of this debate.

If my opponent cannot uphold his BoP as the claimant; the resolution will be negated and the debate will go to me by default.

In conclusion,

Benshapiro

Con

Pro hasn't upheld his BoP nor did he successfully rebut my arguments. This was a debate created on debate.org and pro even outlined the structure of the debate in R1. If I broke the rules the onus was on him to say so. Pro clearly hasn't done so. The resolution is negated and the debate goes to the contender by default.

If I could vote, The-Voice-Of-Truth would get all 7 points.

Conduct to Pro for following the BoP and since Benshapiro didn't follow the BoP and whined about how we wins by default he actually loses.

Spelling and Grammar to pro for flawless arguments and no mistakes.

Convincing arguments to Pro because his lack of an argument made the claim true as it was not a debate since only one side presented an argument and a discussion can't be true if only person is talking. Con's arguments consisted of how he should win.

Sources to Pro since his sources didn't exist since it wasn't a debate. Con's source to disprove Pro's arguments did not exist.

There you have it! VOTE PRO!

Well, maybe not. Typically people who vote quickly on debates like these that just go into the voting period are friends with one of the debaters involved. My bad.

I can see how it was enticing lol we'll have to see what the voters think about it.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro drops his burden, and doesn't address Con's argument from the origin of this "debate". Easy vote.

Reasons for voting decision: Pro failed to maintain his BOP of showing how this is not a debate. Simply entering a period each round does not accomplish this. On the other hand, Con gave reasoning as to why this is a debate, and went on unchallenged for the remainder of the rounds. For this, I award Con arguments. Everything else is null. I would suggest that Pro actually present some form of argument to support his position under the given resolution if he should choose to do something like this again.

Reasons for voting decision: My perception is that what a debate is is never established by Pro. He didn't have to argue it (thus making this a debate about whether or not this is a debate), but he had to make some sort of stance here. Instead, he let his opponent establish what a debate is, and as such, allowed him the time and space to show that this was a debate. Ergo, I vote for him. Incidentally, for those who are voting Pro, I'd really like to know how you justify that. You're voting on something that isn't a debate, and even awarding arguments. Doesn't that defy basic logic? Shouldn't you not be voting if you agree with Pro? Does your vote not, by definition, make this a debate? I am affording Con conduct because Pro basically forfeited his rounds in an effort to win - long as I believe he was unsuccessful, they get treated the same.

Reasons for voting decision: pro successfully proved that this was not a debate, by not engaging in an actual debate. sadly I have to give him the points for arguments.

Reasons for voting decision: Due to literacy (i know what "debate" means), and pro outlining a structure for the debate, which was never deviated from, this goes to con. I would however say it wasn't an arguement, but even by being able to vote on it in this structured fashion, it clearly is a debate no matter how poorly argued it was by one side.
