I believe that the man in this video should be executed by the state for what he did. It will be cons responsibility to argue why he should not be executed

Greetings, interesting debate topic. Let's begin.

========
Contentions:
========

1.) Hypocrisy: We condemn many each year for the act of killing other individuals, regardless of the reason's for these killings we put them to death anyways. Putting this man to death for the things he has done is no better than the lady pulling a gun out and shooting him on the spot. I must point out that she would surely be punished if that were the case. This man is not a grave threat to anyone, he is being convicted of food tampering, putting him to death is simply absurd.

2.) The 8th amendment: Cruel and unusual punishment. Many interpret the death penalty as violating this amendment. With no actual reason for it, this seems out of the question.

3.) Reasons for the death penalty: These are typically the only cases in which the death penalty are even considered:

A: Murder
B: Multiple sexual offenses
C: Treason (Not so common anymore but still)

Out of the countless crimes that are committed in America, only these three are punished by the death penalty. My opponent wishes a man convicted of food tampering should be put to death? My opponent must prove why this, over the thousands that do not, should be punished by the death penalty.

I await my opponents case.

3) This is a sexual offense he ejaculated in gum and gave gum to multiple woman in my eyes it should be viewed as multiple sex offenses under the law

2) The state supreme courts of many states to find that the 8th amendment refers to denigration or humiliation of a person but not to the death penalty

1) It would not be not be hypocrisy to execute this man because he has not physically killed anyone, he has emotionally though.

Thank you for the timely response.

1) I would ask that my opponent elaborate on this accusation. He claims that the man mentally killed, whereas i have not seen this.

2) I would ask for a source for this, to help me refute. But i am also assuming that these states are also pro death penalty.

3) This is fallacious for more than one reason:

A) He was convicted of food tampering NOT sexual offenses.
B) He was not proven to ejaculate on any of the gum except the one woman's. Innocent until proven guilty law.

C)Definition of sexual offense: Sexual Offense: a forcible sex offense is "any sexual act directed against another person, forcibly and/or against that persons will; or not forcibly or against the person's will where the victim is incapable of giving consent," and includes forcible rape, forcible sodomy, sexual assault with an object, and forcible fondling. Non forcible sex offenses are acts of "unlawful, non forcible sexual intercourse," and include incest and statutory rape.

There were no actions that were forced upon anybody.

I have been forced by my Christian God to forfeit this debate on the grounds that alex_hanson911 is a better Christian than I.

I was hoping this would be like when God commanded Abraham to kill its own son, but I am afraid it is not, I have been commanded to lose and I must oblige, I'm sure you understand.

Fair enough. Thanks for the debate.

Creepiness is not a criterion for execution.

Are there any ReganFan debates that follow logic?
More specifically, are there any where he actually warrants his side instead of saying "It's your job to prove that this did/didn't happen"?

Why are innocent peoples rights who have done nothing, worth less than those who engage in cruel and unusual punishment against that innocent person. The innocent person is afforded no rights at all, Not choosing the punishment, no revenge, no compensation, nothing. Except maybe lip service from the judicial system about how it would be better for the scum bag to cop a plea for a reduced sentence. Oh ya justice, that's the thing that lets child molesters back out on the streets to molest your child, and lets Bernie Madoff live after destroying the lives of thousands of people and their retirements and life savings.

Hmmm....seems you wanted some immediate debating. I can take this when our current one ends (I can't accept another open challenge until my current one has concluded). So, yeah, reserved.
