Though an exciting idea, the world would be in shambles if Pokemon were real.

First round is acceptance. If you think you're pro Ash Ketchum enough.

Have no idea why I was challenged to this, but I'll accept regardless.

Pro has to affrim 2 things to confirm the resolution.

Pokemon being real is an exiting idea.

The word would be in shamble if Pokemon were real.

Good luck.

OK, glad you accepted. the reason for the challenge was because i read you're argument about mega penguins and robots and thought it was hilarious, as well as very intelligently constructed so i thought a debate on Pokemon would hold the same entertainment value. any pokedex references were pulled from http://pokemondb.net..., and my arguments will be constructed mainly from the game boy games because that is in my opinion the most consistent story line to go off of.

1-Pokemon pose a daily threat to human life due to either there superior size, strength, intelligence, or supernatural abilities.

2- Humanity would be forced to relocate, and restructure in order to survive as the weaker species of the two.

3- Pokemon would dismantle our current religious practices (not that this is a religious debate by any means) by way of force, and in turn take the place of our current world religions.

1-
ok first off i feel the first point is a given. short of such pokemon as caterpie, weedle, and ext. pokemon clearly possess some sort of power may it be strength, telekinesis, fire breathing, water manipulation, razor sharp projecting leaves, or the most famous electricity. needless to say there are countless abilities possessed by pokemon that can kill humans. you might say that's no big deal we dangerous animals now and we seem to be fine, because we don't carelessly put ourselves in there environment (for the most part). the only flaw in thinking that way is that there are plenty of pokemon living in your back yards, and cities that not only posses the ability to kill you, they also have no problem attacking you. Simple pokemon that in the game were viewed as week or beginner pokemon in the game have surprisingly aggressive pokedex descriptions. Pidgeotto is a 3'7" bird that hunts a territory of sometimes further than 60 miles from its nest, no big deal right? it goes on to say that the bird shows no mercy punishing intruders to its territory http://pokemondb.net.... Haunter can literally lick the life from you http://pokemondb.net.... Driftloon tries to steal childrenhttp://pokemondb.net.... i could list more but i think you get the picture. the point is that pokemon have no problem killing humans, and some even search for human victims. the real reason for the kids (in the game) receiving a pokemon as children is so they can have a method of defending themselves. this is supported in finding many people who live inside of the safety of the city, were never trainers, yet still have pokemon. in the game you're not even allowed to leave pallet town untill you have you're pokemon. also if you ever find yourself without any pokemon( in the game) at all you will still get attacked when walking in tall grass with only the option to run away or throw something at it, this supports the idea that it is the pokemon attacking you and not the other way around. since the pokedex is synonymous within the games, movies, and anime it provides the most credible reference for the behavior/abilities of pokemon. and just to give you a good range of how dangerous pokemon are to the world Yveltal absorbs the life from all living things when it dies http://pokemondb.net..., so pokemon literally bring an apocalypse waiting to happen with them.

2-
assuming in this case that pokemon are introduced into present day, what steps would we take towards dealing with our new threat? immediately we wouldn't have an answer to the overwhelming power and abilities of pokemon. yea sure we could shoot a lot of them, but what good is a bullet going to do against the battle plans of an Alakazam, he has an IQ of 5000 and his brain can outperform a supercomputer, not to mention he possess powerful psychic abilities http://pokemondb.net..., and what answer would we have against a Tyranitar which has a body that literally cannot be harmed by any attack, this pokemon also has the ability to crumble mountains, it has no compassion for others, and forces maps to be redrawn when he looses his temper http://pokemondb.net.... are foot soldiers wouldn't be much help because Chandelure has the ability to steal the spirit out of it foes and leaves them in a hypnotic trance http://pokemondb.net..., or jiggly puff could just put them all to sleep http://pokemondb.net.... Are navy would be destroyed by the likes of Gyarados http://pokemondb.net..., and Sharpedo http://pokemondb.net... who are both violent and have descriptions stating that they have either destroyed cities or sank enormous ships. and our most fast acting/mobile defense being our air force wouldn't stand a chance against a group of metang who is basically floats in the air, is indestructible, and has magnetic and psychokinetic powers that could just magnetically draw aircraft in all day destroying them on impact. Simply put, we have no ability to physically or intellectually overcome pokemon. Our only real option would be to relocate and live in small towns/villages in areas of low possibility of conflict. now i know there are a lot of people in the world and hiding small communities everywhere seems like a tall order, but assuming humanity wouldn't lay down and be subjected to being #2 on the food chain war would be imminent and humanity would loose a majority of its people in the process. we would loose many staples of modern day society, such as electricity, consistent clean water source, internet communications, consistent food supply, as well as the ability to operate as the dominant species on the planet thus drop the world into a state of chaos.

3-
eventually people would find areas of a low threat level and be able to establish simple societies capable of survival. at this point pokemon have compleatly taken control of what was once are world, so it would now be safe to say that it is now the pokemons world to control and influence instead of our own. the world is now essentially once big pokemon society, and as is common in the vast majority of societies it would develop its own religious construct for which people (and now pokemon) would follow. the pokemon universe supports that pokemon themselves are the religious/higher power entities. Arceus is the creator of the universe http://pokemondb.net..., Dialga controls time http://pokemondb.net..., Palkia controls space http://pokemondb.net.... Uxie brings knowledge http://pokemondb.net..., Mesprit brings emotion http://pokemondb.net.... and Azelf brings willpower http://pokemondb.net.... all people would become subject to accept these things as truths, thus bringing much disorder to those societies with people still holding on to "old world religions" during this transition period.

In closing pokemon have the ability to kill us, and many pokemon have a desire to harm/kill us. They are far superior to are military capabilities leading to the eventual destruction of modern society and forcing to live withing the confines of pokemon rule. And finally pokemon provide there own religious system to which humans would be subject to accept as there own.

Not sure where I ever mentioned mega-penguins or robots, but I guess that's not really relevant. On to the debate.

I. Cross-Examination

1-Pokemon pose a daily threat to human life due to either there superior size, strength, intelligence, or supernatural abilities.

Not as much as a given as you may think. While I will admit that they pose a threat, they aren't any more dangerous than your average pedophile or murderer. I'll go through Pro's examples one at a time.

Pidegeotto- Well, this isn't really that big of a problem. If you trespass on someones property, they have the right to punish you for it. The only difference is here, the person is a bird. Besides, if they give you trouble, just hit 'em with a Thunderbolt or two. Pidgeotto has pretty bad special defense, takes double damage from them and would likely be taken out in a couple strikes. http://pokemondb.net...

Driftloon- Stealing children is already an issue even without Pokemon. You have creeps on the street every day who are out to kidnap. Moreover, they have the distinct advantage of being human. So, they would be able to communicate with children and take advantage of them. Driftloon has to rely on thr children grabbing onto them. Which they would likely be told not to do.

As of right now, that is all I have time to post. The rest of my argument, as well as my rebuttals will be next round.
