Tom Brady is a better and smarter QB than Peyton Manning!
It's as simple as that!

I thank my opponent for opening this debate and welcome him to this website.

I would like to start off by noting that as The Instigator and Pro, my opponent has the Burden of Proof to show that Tom Brady is a better quarterback than Peyton Manning. If I am able to prove otherwise, then the resolution shall be negated.

I shall begin by defining some terms:

Tom Brady- American football quarterback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League.

better- of superior quality or excellence.

quarterback- a back in football who usually lines up immediately behind the center and directs the offense of the team.

Peyton Manning- American football quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League.

Here are some one-on-one career stats:

PASSING:
PEYTON MANNING > TOM BRADY

PASS %: 64.4 > 63.0

PASSING YARDS: 45,628 > 26,446

YARDS PER GAME: 259.2 > 234.0

TOUCHDOWNS: 333 > 197

RATE: 94.7 > 92.9

RUSHING:
PEYTON MANNING > TOM BRADY

RUSHING YARDS: 717 > 533

AVERAGE: 2.3 > 1.9

RUSHING TOUCHDOWNS: 17 > 5

FUMBLES:
PEYTON MANNING > TOM BRADY

TOTAL FUMBLES: 52 < 65

LOST FUMBLES: 17 < 29

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Peyton Manning clearly has better statistics than Tom Brady.

Some more facts:

Peyton Manning: 9 time Pro Bowl selection Tom Brady: 4 time Pro Bowl selection

Manning: 4 time First-Team All-Pro Tom Brady: 1 time First-Team All-Pro

Manning holds NFL records for consecutive seasons with over 4,000 yards passing and the most total seasons with 4,000 or more yards passing in a career. Manning holds the highest career passer rating among active quarterbacks and his 94.7 rating puts him second all-time behind only Steve Young

Peyton Manning has more experience and leadership qualities than Tom Brady. He has been in the lead longer than Brady and possesses extreme leadership in choosing which plays to perform seconds before the ball is snapped during game play.

I have posted enough facts this round to adequately prove my point. Tom Brady is not a better quarterback than Peyton Manning. My opponent has the burden to try and prove otherwise. I heavily urge a Con vote.

P.S. Sorry if my facts are really close to one another. My computer will not separate them further.

Manning may have better stats BUT Brady puts more heart into the game.
If Manning is so good, then why can't he win at least 2 Super Bowl's?
WHY?
He has had Harrison & Wayne for the longest time and he still can't bring them to the Super Bowl, never mind WIN.
Brady has put so much hard work into his football career and he has managed to take them to the AFC Championship almost every year and he has 3 rings that he obtained with who?...
Those C+ wide receivers?
C'mon.
Manning may have better stats because of his great offense but when it comes down to the Red Zone, BRADY, ALL DAY!
Just remember, you could give Belicheck a toddler and Brady would make it rain with him.
Brady can do it all day every day with anyone.

I thank my opponent for his response.

"Manning may have better stats BUT Brady puts more heart into the game."
My opponent has conceded that Manning does have better stats than Brady. Being that stats are a major part of deciding who is the better player, Manning already has a huge advantage over Tom Brady. How can my opponent say that Brady puts more heart into the game? Manning has never missed a single game in the regular season. Brady has missed over ten, and excluding his season-ending injury last season, he has still missed more regular season games. My opponent has not given any proof or evidence to show that Brady puts more heart into the game, so his point holds no water.

"If Manning is so good, then why can't he win at least 2 Super Bowl's?
WHY?"
Winning Super Bowls is not solely based on the quarterback. It is based on the efforts of the whole team, so this point is slightly irrelevant to this debate. However, I must say that Manning has never lost a Super Bowl game. Tom Brady has. Brady led his team to a perfect season, and then completely lost it in the Super Bowl. Manning has a 100% win ratio in the Super Bowl, while Brady only has a 75% win ratio. May I ask my opponent, if Brady is so good, how could he lose the Super Bowl after leading his team to a perfect season?

"He has had Harrison & Wayne for the longest time and he still can't bring them to the Super Bowl, never mind WIN.
Brady has put so much hard work into his football career and he has managed to take them to the AFC Championship almost every year and he has 3 rings that he obtained with who?...
Those C+ wide receivers?
C'mon."
Once again, Manning has been into the Super Bowl and won. Super Bowls test the ability of an entire team, not just a quarterback. if that was so, your Tom Brady would have won the Super Bowl after his perfect season! Manning has also put a ton of work into his football career. Once again, Brady and the rest of the Patriots have continuously been one of the best defensive and offensive teams for several years. Brady is not the sole reason the Patriots made it to the AFC frequently. Those C+ receivers? Randy Moss and Wes Welker? Brady had a lot of help. Manning is statistically better, along with having a better Super Bowl win ratio.

"Manning may have better stats because of his great offense but when it comes down to the Red Zone, BRADY, ALL DAY!"
My opponent once again states that Manning has better stats, which is one of the top things that determines who the better player is. My opponent has said that Brady has it all day when it comes to the Red Zone, but he has not provided an argument or even evidence as to why this is significant.

"Just remember, you could give Belicheck a toddler and Brady would make it rain with him.
Brady can do it all day every day with anyone."
This is completely opinionated and has no logic or evidence. If he could do it any day, then why didn't he do it during the Super Bowl that he lost? Exactly.

I thank my opponent and the readers for the chance to debate. My opponent has conceded my point about stats and has not met his burden of proof. I heavily urge a Con vote.

The Pro gave no valid arguments whatsoever. This would have actually been a decent debate had the Pro gotten some real stats instead of talking like Chris Berman. I do not believe that the Con made the best arguments possible, but it's better than no argument at all.

Then I guess you won the debate if he cannot answer back. Also I think you are right with Manning being better than Brady. Manning clearly has better stats than him and, unlike Brady,he has never missed a game.

Before I took this debate, my opponent promised that he would post his argument today at the latest, because we will both be on vacation starting tomorrow. He says that now he cannot post an argument, and will probably do so on vacation. But I will not have access to a computer. He broke the promise, so any suggestions?

I mean, apologizing is completely unnecessary, but whatever...

Manning is a favorite of mine, as well, even though I'm a Patriots fan. It's hard for me not to like someone who's as talented as Manning obviously is.
