Transgenders should not have to go to a specific bathroom. If you honestly decided that you did not agree with the gender that you were given as a baby, you shouldn't be discriminated against and have to go to a certain bathroom. Although people say, "oh, I would feel unsafe if someone that was the opposite gender as me came into my bathroom." Transgenders feel the same way! If you were to make a transgender go to the bathroom on their birth certificate, they will not feel safe because they feel as if that is not the bathroom that they belong in. Transgenders do not feel that they are the gender they were born as, and if you can't twist your mind about that, that is very disrespectful to these individuals.

There is a need to designate access to bathrooms based on a persons gender at birth. There are two main reason for this.

First the rights of transgender should not out weigh the rights of men or women who are not transgender. Every person has a right to privacy when using a restroom, locker room or public shower. To grant transgender the right to use any bathroom they choose; meaning the bathroom the believe/identify as their gender, you ignore the rights of every person who is not comfortable with sharing a bathroom, locker or shower room with a person who is biologically that of the opposite gender.

Second if you do not take the majorities rights into consideration how can a law allowing transgender to utilize a bathroom, locker or show room of their identified gender be enforced? There is no reasonable way to say the person entering a bathroom is actually transgender or not. So a law allowing transgender people to use the bathroom that correspondences with their identity basically makes all bathrooms gender neutral and nobody can expect any privacy when using public facilities.
