Con

The troops in Afgan need to be removed now.

Pro

I would like to thank my opponent for creating this debate.

Troops need to stay in Afghanistan in order to help maintain safety and security there and abroad.

SAFETY IN AFGHANISTAN

Before President Bush sent American troops, Afghanistan was controlled by the terror faction Taliban that provided safe haven for Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden. [1] After the installation of troops, the citizens of Afghanistan could live without the constant shadow of fear, and were able to have their first free election in eight years. [2]

SAFETY ABROAD

Keeping troops in Afghanistan will maintain a situation where the Taliban won't be able to build a large cell of terrorists bent on attacking Western democracies like the United States:

"...the foremost responsibility of any president is to keep Americans safe. Preventing Afghanistan from once again becoming a terrorist sanctuary from which attacks on America can be launched is as clear-cut a vital national interest as any in the world. If the price for this is a sustained military presence there"and the alternative, withdrawal, is more likely to result in a terrorist victory along the lines of what happened in Iraq after America left..." [3]

To summarize, troops need to stay in Afghanistan in order to maintain safety there and abroad.

3 points to Pro (Con). Reasons for voting decision: I hate to agree with (pro) but (con) didn't help himself by only going one round in this debate. But not only one round. He only made one sentence. He only mention the US should leave afghanistan. And that's it. He didn't give a why. He didn't explain his reasons at all. So this hurt his cause in this debate. As for pro he did what he was supposed to do. And that was why we needed to stay in afghanistan. Pro mention this is for afghanistan own safety to have the US troop stay. Con could not rebuttal this so he lost this debate. Con just didn't expend his though on why the US should leave.

[*Reason non-removal*] The voter points to specific arguments made by both sides and examines why one side"s points were more convincing. That"s sufficient.

I understand that there are back clashes when you are going to remove troops in afagnistan but you have to understand that historians name afganistan as the graveyard of nations because ussr came but turned back defeated. Instead of bring troops afganistan should improve its military and enimes are not borned but made and i personally when visied afganistan the living standard is terriable. They are surving and we are living, and that is what makes enimes because when people are dying they some of them would do anything

Reasons for voting decision: Never make a debate single round, that is what the opinion section is for. ... So con did not even make a case, an end statement for one, but nothing to even imply said need. Con further chose a setup to not allow countering any of pro's points, making them essentially dropped. ... Pro's case in contrast existed, with contentions supported by logic and evidence. Namely safety. Troops there equal something good, with nothing put in place to counter that.
