This house believes that Twilight Saga is better than Harry Potter series because of the following reasons hereunder:
First, Harry Potter fans are so insecure of Twilight fans that's why they make jokes about twilight fans.
Second, Harry Potter does not teach us forgiveness. You need to become enemies until the end.
Third, Harry Potter teaches us betrayal.
I can't think of amy other arguments as of now

I am more then happy to take this debate,
and since you have kept your first round concise I shall do the same.

First off, we are not insecure. We make fun of twilight because it is about a centuries old vampire
who sparkles and dates a 16 year old with no self esteem and they both clearly have issues they need
to see a doctor for, namely Bella's infatuation with a guy centuries older then her and her inability
to decide who she wants more: the pedophilic vampire or the feral werewolf who tried to kill the vampire.

Second, It doesn't teach us forgiveness? I will demolish this with a simple little back story
on one of the characters, namely Severus Snape.

Severus is portrayed as an unforgiving man, he treats his students horribly. Especially Harry Potter.
But that's not the important part. What's important is others actions towards him.
When the prophecy was first heard by Dumbledore, Snape was listening in. And he being a death eater
immediately took this information to Voldemort.
This resulted in the death of the Potters except for their child, Harry.
Now after he realised what he had done he went to dumbledore and begged for his forgiveness, and what
did Dumbledore do? He forgave him his transgressions, gave testimony on his behalf, and took him in
to work at Hogwarts. Now in the end you would think that Harry would hate this man, correct? You
would think he despised the person who ruined his life, but instead he forgave him and in the end named
one of his children albus severus in memory of the man who helped him defeat voldemort.

I could give you countless other examples of forgiveness but I feel that's all I need.

Third, how does it teach betrayal? This story teaches friendship, camaraderie, and loyalty.
In philosophers stone Harry, Ron, and Hermione banded together to save the philosophers stone.
In chamber of secrets Harry and Ron risked their lives to save Ron's sister from a thousand year old
basilisk.
In prisoner of azkaban Harry refused to let Sirius kill Peter because he felt even he deserved life.
In goblet of fire Harry almost lost the second challenge because he saved sister of his opponent.
In order of the phoenix Harry saved Arthur Weasly's life and nearly had a mental break down just because
he witnessed it through the eyes of the snake.
There are countless examples of loyalty in all of the books and it is one of the most lauded
characteristics in all of the Harry Potter cannon.

Twilight's most lauded characteristics appear to be pedophilia, angst, blood drinking, and sparkling.

Although I'm not a huge 'fan' of either, I still enjoy Harry Potter over Twilight. Twilight seems to be a crazy woman's self insert fan-fiction featuring two mystical creatures who are portrayed as important that fight over her. Harry Potter is a great series filled with suspense, drama, and action. It combines the right amount of story-telling, character development, and dialog to create a series of storys that makes you want to read on and find out what happens. It makes clever usefulness of the Chekhov's Gun trope with developments that surprise you and make you think "I remember that! So that's what that was for! It all makes sense!"
