Edward Cullen is better for Bella Swan than Jacob Black.

Better- something superior in quality or condition or effect;
http://www.google.com...
The resolution has yet to be defined. My opponent merely gave a subjective statement.
Now, I will proceed to defeat her...statement, as its not actually an argument.
Anyways, the statement, "Edward Cullen is better for Bella Swan than Jacob Black," is not really defining anything. She just gave a random resolution, and then gave a completely random biased statement. However, for the sake of not being purely semantical, I will defeat her attempt at a proper debate.

-What the instigator was looking for-

Edward Cullen is not a suitable boyfriend/husband/mate for Bella because of four primary factors.

1.)No benefits.

A. Unless she is willing goes through unbearable pain, and forfeit the possibility to have a soul, and throw away her friends, family, etc. for a boy she does not know all too well, why would Bella pursue Edward? Furthermore, why would she truly love him anyways? She knows nothing about him, aside from that he's some 300 years old and a vampire, he may harm/kill her during sexual intercourse, unbridled animosity from a tribe of dangerous werewolves, etc. Aside from the, 'love,' she professes for him, he's got nothing going for him. Anyway, that 'Love' is probably just teenage hormones from Bella's end.

2.)Risks

A. Edward can kill Bella at any given time if he wanted to. He is a vampire, who, in the novel Twilight, have extreme strength and speed. Were they to get into a serious fight, he could grievously injure her/kill her in a fit of rage. In fact, during intercourse, in the fourth book, she ends up waking with bruises covering her entire body. At any point in time, had he gotten too passionate, he might've killed her. Let's not forget angry sex, people.

B. Bella will not be able to have children, and if so, only once. As a vampire, Bella cannot have a baby. It is physically impossible. If she managed to get impregnated while still a human, she would inevitably die unless she was willing to forfeit her humanity to become a vampire, and even then, she would have an infinitesimal chance of still living the pregnancy, not counting the fetus's health.

C.In all the books and movies, Edward Cullen has disputes with Werewolves, a deadly enemy of the Cullen clan. In fact, should any of the Cullens set one foot over the border (Including Bella, should she become Vampirized), they would be instantly torn to shreds by the shape shifters (Psuedo-Werewolves.)

3.)Alienation from friends, family, etc.

During the short period of time Bella spends infatuated with Edward Cullen, all of her other friendships rapidly deteriorate. In fact, Jacob Black, her former best friend, had regressed from being a best friend to a hostile stranger, possibly an enemy. He absolutely despises Edward Cullen, and, by extension, Bella, as long as she stays with Edward. Having such a powerful neighbor as an enemy does not bode well for one. Also, her relationships with her father, mother, and close friends become second to Edward. In fact, she rarely socializes with anyone else aside from Edward and his family.

4)Edward has no reasonable redeeming qualities.

That's just it, point blank. Edward has nothing going from him. Aside from his pale, gaunt face, and sparklies, which Bella apparently loves for some reason or other, he sucks. His personality is trash, evidenced by him up and leaving Bella, 'for her own good,' which causes her to be distraught, thus making her take drastic and dangerous attempts to hear his voice, which inevitably leads her to nearly commit suicide. He is a sociopath, and has literally no friends. He stalks Bella, before the two even had a relationship with the other. He can kill her at any given point. He is a vampire, and vampires drink blood. Edward is especially infatuated with Bella's blood, which doesn't bode well for the girl should his thirst become too great. He is over three hundred years old, which doesn't speak too well for his mental health. Edward confesses to actually plotting to kill Bella for at least the first month of school or so.

In short, Edward is a horrible boyfriend to have. Scratch that, he's a horrible anything to have, barr having a psychopathic, murderous, wanting to kill you hit man.

=What my opponent should've watched for=
(S)he didn't define a resolution at ALL. She didn't even give anything in her opening round specifying what she wanted. She just gave a title to the resolution, and a sentence. That's it.
As such, I will now define the Resolution as such,
"Twilight Sucks."
Twilight - the time of day immediately following sunset
http://www.google.com...

Suck - draw into the mouth by creating a practical vacuum in the mouth
http://www.google.com...
So, my opponent has the BoP to prove why/does/if/how the time of day immediately following sunset draws things into its mouth by creating a practical vacuum.
I look forward to a stimulating debate. I am totally not expecting a forfeit at all.
Totally.

In closing, I feel that my opponent has offered incredible arguments, superb wording, and amazing vernacular.
Through it all, I cried at my opponent's amazing logic and reverent reasoning.
However, I feel I did better, just by a bit.
Therefore, you should give a vote for Con, even through this hard-fought battle.
I congratulate my opponent on a debate well-done.

Resolution 'Necrophilia is better for Bella than Bestiality'

I'll have to reserve judgement on this one.
