U.S.A is far better than U.A.E. Although U.A.E has some of the tallest buildings U.S.A has tons of them. It is a thousand times bigger then U.A.E so we cannot get bored. U.A.E is smaller than a centimeter and has no fun. U.S.A has tons of amusement parks whereas U.A.E has a few. U.S.A is a whole lot better than U.A.E

Thank you to my opponent for the opportunity to debate this subject that has been at the forefront of my mind for many years.

I must take issue with the assertion that the UAE is smaller than a centimetre. The UAE covers 32,278 square miles (83,600 square kilometers).

The UAE doesn't just have some of the tallest buildings. It has THE tallest building in the world![1]

Obesity is a great problem in the USA. The United States has the highest rate of obesity in the world. 35.7% of American adults are obese and 17% of American children.[2]

Americans: Statistically, you will get slimmer if you move to UAE.

The UAE culture of wearing clothing that fully covers the body means even if there is an obese man in your view, you don't have to see him in shorts.

One annoying thing about the USA is false prices. There's tax on everything. UAE is duty free. In fact there's no tax at all.[3]

In the UAE you technically need an alcohol license to get a drink. However you are often not asked for it. In USA, bars always check your ID.[4]

The UAE is more spacious. It has a population of 2,624,000. That's 81.2 people per square mile. US population density is 84 per square mile.[5] That's nearly 3 more people to get in your way every square mile.

UAE airports are TSA free.[6]

Crime is very low in UAE compared to USA. According to INTERPOL data:
For murder, the rate in 1999 was 2.99 per 100,000 population for UAE, and 4.55 for USA. For rape, the rate in 1999 was 5.94 for UAE, compared with 32.05 for USA. For robbery, the rate in 1999 was 0.41 for UAE and 147.36 for USA. For aggravated assault, the rate in 1999 was 10.11 for UAE and 329.63 for USA. For burglary, the rate in 1999 was 5.12 for UAE and 755.29 for USA. The rate of larceny for 1999 was 288.78 for UAE and 2502.66 for USA. The rate for motor vehicle theft in 1999 was 23 for UAE, and 412.70 for USA. The rate for all index offenses combined was 336.35 for UAE, compared with 4184.24 for USA.[7]

America could soon be ruined.[8] There are no fears of imminent ruination for UAE.

The UAE has better health care. It was 27th on the World Health Organization rankings. USA ranked 38th.[9]

The welfare system of UAE offers free state services for all nationals, from the cradle to the grave, including high-quality health care, education up to the tertiary level, social security, family allowances, subsided electricity and water, and housing for low-income groups.[10]

One admitted problem is draconian restrictions on travel. If you live in the US you are not allowed to visit Cuba. There is no such restriction for citizens of the UAE.

The UAE has some amazing hotels. The $3-billion Emirates Palace hotel, a kilometer (0.6 miles) from end to end, sprawls on a white beach 4,265 feet (1.3 kilometers) long and features 114 domes—the tallest climbs 238 feet (72.5 meters)—and over a thousand Swarovski crystal chandeliers.[11]

The city of Sharjah was named by UNESCO as the Cultural Capital of the Arab World.[12] I suppose USA has Las Vegas.

UAE is better for sport:

God can't be American, as America hasn't been around that long. God isn't from UAE either. No, God is an Englishman. And cricket is God's game. The British gave cricket to the UAE. It now hosts international matches: Pakistan beat England in the Test Match series in 2012.[13] God was mildly annoyed.

There is also the Dubai World Cup — a horse race with the biggest purse in the sport ($10 million).[14]

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is one of the most exciting on the annual Formula 1 circuit.[15]

Also (and this one fact should win the debate on its own), UAE has robot camel racing. Robot. Camel. Racing. They used to use children until someone pointed out this might be dangerous, so now they use remote controlled robots in jockey shirts with whips on their robot arms. The owners follow on cars screaming instructions, which the robots ignore. Cars often crash or a camel decides to run the wrong way. This is far better than anything in the USA.[11][16]

As far as wildlife goes, the UAE boasts the Arabian Leopard. USA doesn't have a creature as majestic as that.[17]

UAE has more immediately available oil. 98 billion barrels.[18] Proven reserves in the USA are 25 billion barrels.[19] I take your milkshake and I drink it. I drink the milkshake, Eli!

I am going to boldly assert that UAE may be better if you are a woman. You could end up on the board of directors. Government firms and agencies in the UAE are now must employ a quota of women as board members following a recent Cabinet decision.[20]

So you see, in all these ways UAE outstrips USA. UAE is far better.
