topic-Under the guise of growth and development,the exploitation of mother earth by endless greed of humanbeings have resulted in the outburst of nature's fury causing a devastating effect.
for the topic-
resource rich countries perform poorly when compared to countries which are not endowed
with oil, natural gas, minerals and other non-renewable resources. Therefore, resource abundance is believed to be an important determinant of economic failure, which implies that oil
abundance is a curse and not a blessing.

I accept.

Ok, I'll start with combating the Round 1 topic.

resource rich countries perform poorly when compared to countries which are not endowed

with oil, natural gas, minerals and other non-renewable resources.

Let's look at GDP Per Capita...

Resource rich countries.
United States = $49,922
United Kingdom = $36,728
Germany = $39,028
France = $35,548
Mexico = $15,312
South Korea =
European Union = $31,607
North America = $35,408

Resource poor countries.

All of Africa = $1812
Afghanistan = $1130
North Korea = $505
Ethiopia = $444
Somalia = $584

Between the more resource consuming North American and less resource consuming South America.

North America = $35,408
South America = $11,962

Now lets review the Economical Map of the World.

As we can see, Resource Consuming nations are wealthier, and more prosperous.

Now lets discuss Health.

Resource Rich Countries Infant Mortality

United States = 6.06 deaths/1000 live births
United Kingdoms = 4.62 deaths/1000 live births
Germany = 3.54 deaths/1000 live births
France = 3.29 deaths/1000 live births
South Korea = 4.01 deaths/1000 live births
European Union = 4.40 deaths/1000 live births
North America = 5.97 deaths/1000 live births

Resource Poor Countries Infant Mortality

South Korea = 25.34 deaths/1000 live births
Ethiopia = 77.12 deaths/1000 live births
Africa = 70.76 deaths/1000 live births
Afghanistan = 119.41 deaths/1000 live births
Mali = 106.49 deaths/1000 live births
Somalia = 101.91 deaths/1000 live births
Congo = 72.45 deaths/1000 live births

Now lets discuss Donations. Nations doing good give Donations, while nations that are in bad shape must Donations (logical thinking.) I will go down the list from top to bottom. Nations that are Resource Rich will be labeled RR while nations that are Resource Poor will be labeled RP

Giving the MOST Donations (Millions)

RR - United States = $23,520...
RR - United Kingdom = $12,460...
RR - France = $10,600...
RR - Germany = $10,440...
RR - Japan = $7,500...
RR - Netherlands = $5,452...
RR - Sweden = $3,955...
RR - Canada = $3,900...
RP - Spain = $3,814...

Receiving the MOST Donations (Millions)
RP - Iraq = $21,650...
RP - Slovakia = $12,670...
RP - Greece = $8,000...
RP - Nigeria = $6,437...
RP - Vietnam = $5,400...
RP - Afghanistan = $2,775...
RP - Indonesia = $2,524...
RP - Sudan = $1,829...
RP - Congo = $1,828...
RR - India = $1,724...

As we can see, Resource Rich nations have money to spare, and end up having to help the Resource Poor nations.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Percent of population with Clean Water!

Resource Rich Countries
United States = 100%
United Kingdom = 100%
Germany = 100%
France = 100%
North Korea = 100%
Netherlands = 100%
Japan = 100%
Mexico = 97%
South Korea = 92%

Resource Poor Countries
Mali = 50%
Afghanistan = 39%
Somalia = 29%
Ethiopia = 22%
Congo = 46%
Madagascar = 46%
Mongolia = 62%

Natural Disasters of the Modern Era...!

They say the World is starting to attack and wipe out humans? Is this because there were some natural disasters in the past decade? Natural disasters have always existed.

Let's review the list of Natural Disasters of the Modern Era. They will be listed by the Resource Ranking of the nation they occurred in, along with death toll and everyone effected.

Resource Rich Country
2005 Hurricane Katrina = 1,836
2011 Tornado Outbreak = 346
2004 Hurricane Ivan = 124
2005 Hurricane Rita = 120
2009 Great Britain and Ireland Floods = 4
2007 Storm Kyrill = 11
2006 Tropical Storm Alberto = 3
2012 Russian Floods = 172
2010 Central European Floods = 37

Resource Poor Country
2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami = 230,000
2010 Haiti Earthquake = 159,000
2011 East Africa Drought = 260,000
2012 Nigeria Floods = 363 people killed, over 2,100,000 displaced.
2007 African Floods = 250
2000 Cyclone Leon–Eline = 1000+
2007 Sudan Floods = 750,000
2012 Sahel Drought = 18,000,000 starved

There have been many Disasters in History. A flood in China killed 4,000,000 early 1900's. The damage is getting less and less. However, if Mother Earth is trying to destroy the Resource Rich countries, she's doing a bad just of deciding who is Resource Rich and Resource Poor.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is so much evidence that says the Resource Rich nations are prospering and feel of life, and health. The more resource consuming a nation, the more prosperious they are.

The evidence also shows that there is no negative correlation between consuming more resources and suffering larger Natural Disasters. In fact, nations that consume little seem to get hit the hardest.

I rest my case.
