VirginianRobin

Pro

The purpose of this debate is to discuss political paradigms and what government structure is the most favorable compared to all else.

The two opposing sides, pro and con, will each advance a social/political/economic structure that they think is the best conceivable form of state--utopia--be it original or theorized. They will attempt to persuade the voters that their state is more favorable than the other, all the while trying to undermine the opponent's ideal form of state.

Please avoid semantics--e.g. "Utopia means "no where", therefore I propose anarchy.."

Rounds are as thus:
R1: Introduction
R2: Argument
R3: Argument/Rebuttal
R4: Conclusion

Con will introduce his Utopia in the first round..

Con

I have to say that this is a great idea. Good luck and here's to a great debate!

I will be arguing for a resource based economy.

Utopia would not have a government structure.

post the argument you were originally going to make. This 1) gives you the ability to extend your arguments if she fails to respond or 2) give her the ability to respond and the debate can continue as planned. But dont rechallenge until this round is over

I recall one debate in which the instigator declared that a certain presidential candidate was better than his opponent's. His opponent picked that same candidate. It was win.

The voting period will last indefinitely.

Fix to a month to a year and I'll accept.

*variations of political/social/economic theories

I highly doubt it, with all the variations of political theories there are. :D

In the off-chance that they present perfectly identical utopias? I guess I could obviate that dilemma by letting the Con have the first pick... and then, if it so happened that it was the one I was going to do, I could change it.

Thank you

What if Pro and Con present identical utopias?
