There is no reason for the USSR to be brought back. Even Obama is persuading Putin not to. Face it, we can't let the USSR to rise. You know what? Putinmust be the world's dumbest polititian in human history. And I have my freedom of speech.

There are many reasons that one could argue for the resurrection of the Soviet Union.

1.) The loss of culture. Since the Soviet Bloc fell and Russia was exposed to the West, Russia has lost more and more of its culture. Russia, like the most of the world, is becoming more and more like America. Russia may be "capitalist" now, but much of business done in Russia is through American corporations, funding Americans. Russians are getting little in return for the money they spend at American monopoly chains across the nation. They are only getting cheap products.

2.) Protection. Russia is currently very weak compared to the West. Russia could never stand up to the Western world militarily in its current state. Back when the Russians controlled Ukraine, Central Asia, the Baltics and multiple other regions, Russia was a force to be reckoned with. This perhaps could have prevented a third World War. Nuclear weapons are basically useless at this point. No one is mad enough to use them, therefore they are no longer a real deterrent against a global conflict. We could be at risk of a third World War if we think that we could win against Russia. If Russia was closer on par with the West once more, tensions would escalate, but perhaps the chance of war and millions of lives lost would no longer become as high of a possibility.

3.) Stability. The former Russian nations are not stable. Ukraine is in the midst of a revolution in the east and Georgia has lost many of its territory's to other separatists. Be this Russia's doing or not, there is one thing for sure; it is the people of these areas fighting the battles (possibly with Russian assistance). These people want independence or change in their governments. Armenia and Azerbaijan are at the brink of war over territorial claims. The Central Asian Muslim countries are now victim of terrorist attacks since the wall came down. Look at what happened in Yugoslavia for example. Prior to the fall of communism, the nation lived in relative peace and stability. Almost immediately after communism ended, neighbor turned against neighbor and thousands died due to civil war and religious/ethnic cleansing. Communism could have kept people together and happy for multiple reasons. They had less to worry about since the government offered them all that they needed (as long as they were employed). Freedom of speech was stifled. Now, you might be asking yourself, how is a lack of freedom of speech a good thing? The Slavs have basically been held hostage by the Mongol Hordes for hundreds of years. Even after they gained for independence, they were far behind in technological and thought advancement compared to the rest of Europe. They missed the Renaissance, the Reformations in the church, the Enlightenment and other important events in European thought history. Slavic culture could be behind thought-wise, which would explain their strong emphasis on culture and religion. Now, without the freedom of speech currently offered in the east, people would go back to just being people. There would be no Russians, no Ukrainians, no Belarusians, no Estonians or Kazakhs, only Soviet citizens. There would be no liberals, no conservatives, no Nazis or socialists, only Soviets (Communist Party). There would be no Christians, no Muslims, no Jews or Buddhists, only Soviets (State Atheism). People would still hold their own ideas and beliefs as they always have, but in public you can only assume that everyone else is like yourself.
