YES!!!definately india would be able to host the plypics like the chinese as the developement of india towards a superpower is not far enough and after becoming a super power we wuold take all steps to ensure that the olympisc which is going to be held in new delhi. Will definately be betterthan the one in beijing.i have full faith in my mother hood country and truly believe that we will have mucch much better equipment tha our neighbuors CHINA!!!!!!!!!as i am confident of abetter performance tha our arch rivals china.COMMON INDIA YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Well... For everyone here, I'd like to state at the onset of the debate itself that I am not a crystalgazer who will look into my crystal ball and tell with exact precision that India will never hold the Olympics.. I believe my Opponent is wise enough not to devolve this debate to a level of semantics..
I merely argue the statement that India is not likely to hold the Olympics ever..
and present my points towards establishing it..
Firstly, there is we must understand a great disparity between India and the developed countries today.. this disparity if we notice has just increased in the past few years and will continue to increase in the years to come.. India is progressing no doubt but the net effect is certainly not comparable to the more advanced countries because of the extensive increase in our mid-year population each year too.. {which places a lot of burden on our resources}..
Secndly, some may argue that China has the largest growing population but still hosts the Olympics this year.. Well we need to analyse this situation.. China as a country differs from India in its manpower which at times overtakes even the most advanced machine power of the industrialized countries.. at times though only..
I believe that the Olympic Committee would not ever be satisfied enough to find enough reasons to go ahead with the Olympics in India.. That was my brief hopefully good enough view point..
I'd like to end with a quote by Lewis Carroll- "Now that I come to think of it, Do we even decide questions? We decide the answers ofcourse, but certainly questions decide us.. For u know its the dog that wags the tail and not the tail that wags the dog.."
Seeya..

The problem with holding the Olympics is that it costs a vast amount of money to build the infrastructure for some games that last two weeks.
The facilities then sit around falling into disrepair.
I am also a bit worried that it could be too hot in India for many of the endurance events.
Both Beijing and Los Angeles had to install showers on the roads to cool the athletes. I don't know if even showers would be enough in India.

derek.gunn asks whether India would be willing to host the Olympics. Every time, some or the other country hosts the Olympics and it does that coz it is willing to do so. Like any other country, India will surely want to host the Olympics. We Indians will surely like to prove what we really are.

I agree that it is difficult for India to organise the Olympics like China, but IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE!!!!! We know that the next olympics are at London, and if the 2016 Olymipcs are held at India, I gues India will make it a grand success, for 7 years are more than enough for planning for the Olympics (date for next Olympics will be announced on 2 ot 2009).
India's major problem is that it has failed to use its manpower properly and to the extent til which it could be used. There's no doubt that most of the Indians of this generation agree with this. This thinking will soon change India, India will surely ecome a developed and a highly recognised country of the world, and that day, we will really be proud to be INDIANS. We are all waiting for that day.

There's no doubt that there is a remote chance of India holding the Olympics sometime in the future.. But I debate the fact that India will not be able to host the Olympics like the Chinese..

Of course India could do it.
However a more interesting question is: would India want to?
