Con

This is a debate on whether you think the Colonists are at fault or whether the British are. Loyalists or Patriots. I am arguing Con, that the colonists were the fault of it as opposed to the British.

I look forward to this debate.

This debate is awkwardly posed. The French are at fault.

How are the French at fault? Please do go into detail; I'd honestly like to know. I thought the French only gave the Patriots a navy after the Battle of Saratoga.

"In the American Revolutionary War (1775"1783), France fought alongside the United States, against Britain, from 1778. French money, munitions, soldiers and naval forces proved essential to America's victory over the Crown, but France gained little except large debts."[1]

France, Spain and the Dutch Republic all secretly provided supplies, ammunition and weapons to the revolutionaries starting early in 1776.[2]

The war was ended in Paris, France.[3]

An interesting historical side note. If there had been a transatlantic telegraph[4] at that time, the Boston Tea Party would have been averted. The war itself would have been averted. The United States would still be a under British rule.

Oh, I see. But how does that put the French at fault? I apologize if I'm coming off dense, I truly want to understand this.

America was an usurper to power. The big guns were in Europe.
