Water isn't wet. I'll explain after you.

I accept. I'd like to thank my opponent for challenging me to this debate.

For the sake of this debate we will be defining "Wet" as:

"In a liquid form or state" [1]

Water is in a 'liquid form or state' and therefore is 'wet'. (Like in "wet paint")

I'd once again like to thank my opponent, and look forward to his response.

I like to keep my sentences short for better arguments - you have a carpet ...you throw water on it... The carpet is now wet.... Because of the change/difference/"measurement" of the carpet. The carpet wasn't initially wasn't covered in water... Now that it is we can call it something. -you throw water on water... There's no change... Nothing to measure . Thank you.

I'd once again like to thank my opponent for sending me this debate challenge.

My opponent's first argument seems to essentially be that water isn't wet because it is not measurable...

"you throw water on water... There's no change... Nothing to measure."

...While this may be true in such that there is a difference between his example of a wet carpet, and water itself, this in no way can lead to the conclusion, that water isn't wet.

Since my opponent did not refute my initial argument, nor disagree with our usage of the definition I provided, I will simply reiterate my opening argument to rebut his argument.

Since "wet" can be defined, as I previously stated, as "In a liquid form or state", then water most certainly is "wet", as water is in a liquid form or state. Therefore water is wet.

Thank you, I look forward to my opponent's next round.

Water is not wet because it is the description of an item covered or soaked with water. You can't wet water in the same way you can't set fire on fire.

This is ridiculous. How can water not be wet if it causes things to be wet? I mean, if water causes things to be wet, shouldn't it be wet too?

This seems like an interesting way to take this debate as con. IT'S obvious I would have said:

1. Cats are not wet
2. Water is a liquid
3. Cats are a liquid
4. Cats Are water

Therefore,

1. Water is not wet.
