yes we require a coalition government in the most fampus state karnataka because of the growing population that exists here, we want a multi-party system and if there wiil be a multi-party system here it will be useful for the citizens and they can get their needed requirements and can lead a happy and comfortable life and can not be worried of threatening attacks from other countries.

My opponent argues the Indian State of Karnataka requires a coalition government to be successful. I will first dispute his reasons for his claim, then move on to support for the opposite position.

A. My opponent claims Karnataka needs a coalition government within a multi-party system because of the growing population. However, it is well-documented that coalition governments are the least efficient in rapidly expanding infrastructure, the main need of a growing population. For example, the most rapid industrializations and expansions of infrastructure have not occured in coalition governments but rather authoritarian command governments or solidified one-party democratic rule. During the rapid industrialization and expansions of China, Japan, Singapore, Germany, South Korea, and the Soviet Union, central authority rather than a bickering coalition directed government commands. In the U.S. and the U.K. a dominant party was in control, offering direct subsidies rather being forced to cater to contradictory coalition interests. It certainly seems that executive direction rather than legislative deliberation will give Karnataka the infrastructure it needs, rather than my opponent's idea of some vague multi-party coalition government.

B. My opponent contends a coalition government will more effectively provide for the happiness and comfort of citizens of Karnataka. However, Karnataka's greatest economic triumph, the growth and preeminence of Bangalore in the IT sector, occurred before it even had an independent legislature, much less a multi-party coalition government. This proves my first point that executive direction is more effective macroeconomically and disproves his main reason for desiring a coalition government.

C. My opponent's final reason for a coalition government is the ability to avoid and protect from attacks from other nations. However, coalition governments have historically been the weakest militarily of any form of government. 15th Century Poland, despite having the most advanced military technology in Europe at the time, was constantly trounced in wars due to its coalition legislature being unable to conscript and fund a military effectively. Executive Direction, again, has tended to be more effective.

My point is proven seeing as all my opponent's reasons for a coalition government in Karnataka have not only been disproven, but turned on themselves, supporting my side of the argument. Economically, militarily, and politically, his multi-party coalition ruling Karnataka is decidedly worse.
