We shouldn't have homework. It causes students to be stressed out and, also, if students have too much homework, then they won't be able to study for tests, causing them to fail and tests are a lot more points than homework
How can homework be helpful? Sometimes, students focus too much on getting done that they do the homework IN CLASS. If they do homework during class, then how are they able to learn new things in school? If can't and don't learn new things in class, they will struggle on the next homework assignment.
Homework is meant for home unless given class time or a study hall. Homework is helpful for the kids who don't understand what the teacher is saying but can understand what the paper or book says. The comprehension between a teacher speaking to a whole class and someone learning individually is completely different.
How can the student understand the homework, if they don't pay attention in class? How can the student even know WHAT or HOW to do the homework if they don't understand? Some students spend hours after school doing a bunch of homework assigned and get too tired and just end up planning on working on it during class. Or they just don't even do it at all because there's just too much pressure and give up, causing them to have bad grades. Too much homework also cause stress. They already have so much going on in their life. Maybe family problems, friend problems, AND they have to do a bunch of homework due the next day. Also, homework causes kids not to be able to spend time with their family. According to "Smithsonian Magazine" homework actually CAUSE depression. Finland, for example, has best educations. 93% graduation rate and how much does the United States have? 73%. Why? Because they have no homework. FInland also has the highest rate in Europe of students going to College. http://neomam.com...
