Hello and this debate is going to be about the religion of the new age, you are to describe what your opinion is of new age opposing to my opinion on the new age religion, if we both have closely related opinions then we both win.

The answer to your question is complicated and depressing. For today's new age religion is a total breakdown in moral values combined with a thirst for greed and relentless corruption to achieve this greed. Many have lost faith in current religious outlets and wander the earth with no moral values. We see false prophets claiming to be religious emissaries and yet behind their fake cloaks are million dollar bank accounts. These bank accounts grow by corrupting the same wandering public searching for real answers. The new age religion is the religion of the con man. People like Mike Murdock, Benny Hinn and others....if these are the role models it is not surprising that the world is growing more corrupt, dishonest and immoral. While the reality of the new age religion is bleak I believe the real question should be how do we change this? Traditional forms of religion are outdated but many of the core underlying principles are fantastic. Principles like honesty, respect, kindness, charity, love, nature are basses to form the new age religion you seem to desire and inquire about. To get there will require a major shift away from the satanic principles of corruption, greed, dishonesty and betrayal. While we will never be able to remove human nature from the equation we can tilt the scales back in favour of Godly principles. To do this requires spiritual warriors who are true and strong enough to withstand the isolation they will feel in the current world. While the current new age religion is depressing if we can create more spiritual warriors willing to sacrifice the illusions of power and greed then we can shape the planet into a much more cohesive form. Join me in this fight as our numbers are low but are spirits are high.

I find his approach interesting as it removes the competitive nature that drives many of us to prove how smart we are. He openly admits to confusion on the subject and therefore is open to a dual winner or a dual loser. This topic is hardly factual and therefore who really cares about his loose debating format. Open discussion in any form is positive - The specific location of the subject matter bares no relevance. The ideas thrown around might influence someone to make a difference and that is the most important aspect of this site. Positive change through dialogue. Who wins and where it belongs means as much to me as two ply or single ply toilet paper. I can wipe my bum with both.

A debate requires a resolution that asserts a fact, policy, or course of action that Pro affirms and Con negates. Sometimes, a debate a debate is posed with a question with implication that Pro is answering "yes" and Con is answering "no." This challenge is posed as an open question, which is not a debate. It should be cancelled and the topic introduced for discussion in the Religion forum.

If you want both people to win I suggest that you write this in the first round - "Votes will not be cast on this debate. It will remain tied."

I think the new age religion is utter nonsense. If you would like to post another debate with a resolution that is debatable, I will gladly engage you.

There is no "both win" on a debate. This seems best fitted for the forums.
