Mharman

Con

He is a deity. He has the power to break and bend the laws of the universe, beyond human comprehension. He is powerful enough to exist without being created.
Debate Round No. 1
vi_spex

Pro

exist where
Mharman

Con

He exists everywhere, he is connected to his own creation, the universe. He is All-powerful, giving him the power to be Omnipresent. Not in a physical sense, but in a spiritual sense.

exists everywhere before there is anywhere?
Mharman

Con

Yes, indeed, to answer your question.

He existed in an infinite sea of nothingness before he turned that nothingness into something.

7 points to Pro. Reasons for voting decision: Full Vote in comments. Mharman lost due to Spex's trap, made using a logical paradox. Mharman committed a few offences during the debate. Please find my lengthy review in comments.

Oh, don't even give me that self-righteous crap

No, it was a question that was to hopefully stop you from complaining.
I have nothing against you so I'm not trying to lower it. Just accept that you got caught by Spex's logical trap.

I've never had anyone complain as much as you.

It is counted towards my win ratio. The fact that you asked that means you're trying to lower my win ratio.

Notice how in Spex's final round he said "exists everywhere before there is anywhere?"

You fell into Spex's very obvious logical trap and replied "yes, indeed"
This lost you the debate because you agreed with Spex's logical paradox.

Spex out played you and trapped you with a paradox, you fell into that trap and lost.

As I've already said, Spex is way ahead of his time. He's too smart for you.

It's past voting period, so it doesn't count towards your win ratio?
If not then you have no need to complain. I was reading through Spex's debates and genuinely found he kicked your butt here.

Oh, suuuure. It's past voting period anyways. You made a ridiculous excuse on every point.

@M
I worked bloody hard on analyzing this debate. Please don't attempt to dis-credit me as a voter. I am non-bias and only wish to fairly judge interesting arguments.

Reasons for voting decision: This style of debate has serious merits, but not when it's treated as self evident ... Pro waited until R3 to make a single point, whereas con offered one each round. The answers need not be good when unchallenged. ... Pro could have countered that power within reality does not imply existence before reality; of course technically to exist at all before there was an anywhere to exist, would ensure existing everywhere within that null space (pro's one point was extremely weak).

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct, S&G, and sources are about equal. Mharman was the only one who actually bothered to make arguments, so he kinda wins there by default. vi_spex didn't actually make any arguments, he just interrogated.
