I would like to debate in order to expound more heavily upon the question of whether or not contradictions truly exist. In my studies I have not found anything or anyone who would argue that contradictions are in fact "real" things that have "being", therefore I will take the Con position to argue against their existence.

I would appreciate an opponent who is equally interested in answering this question and who is willing to argue that contradictions do in fact exist.

Jack is gay.

The same Jack is sexually attracted to the other gender.

Oh wow, contradiction.

Hallelujah!

Jack is not gay. No contradiction there.

You were trying to use a straw man argument I take it.

I saw another argument about the same thing, but I felt that the position was poorly defended and wanted to give it a whirl myself.

Is this meant to be an argument over whether abtract entities, like propositions or contradictions, actually have positive ontological status in some Platonic sense? That's what it sounds like to me.
