If the chicken were to have come first, it would have had to have been fertilized already, but how with no mate?

Then again, if the egg were to have come first is would have to have been incubated for quite a while which isn't possible without a chicken to lay on the egg to keep it warm.

Egg. Definitely egg. Caenagnathids laid eggs 77 million years ago. Chickens didn't evolve until 50 million years ago. Problem solved.
