Round One is Acceptance Only

I believe that Black Ops 2 is better than Halo: Combat Evolved because 1. It is more up to date in graphics. Now Combat Evolved did come out with an anniversary edition in November of 2011 with updated graphics and was expected better than the first release in 2001. Black Ops 2 was released in November of 2012. I feel as though both the Halo and COD series have way too many games in them and are very overhyped, but Black Ops 2 was a twist on the normal call of duty story line. It has better weapons and more of an unpredictable plot than CE and there aren't 5 other games just like it. It is a whole new approach and has more privileges than CE. In my personal opinion, the maps are also quite larger and have more depth to them than the regular ones in CE.
Debate Round No. 1

Halo Combat Evolve was an amazing game, It was praised by many people as an amazing game

"Halo was the main launch title for Xbox and is said to be the game that made the Xbox what it is today. It was widely renowned for saving the fledgling Xbox platform, as the Xbox lacked any titles to compete with Sony's PlayStation 2 or Nintendo's GameCube. Halo became an overnight success and managed to drive the platform from the brink of an early death. It went on to sell 6.43 million copies; in other words, 26% of all Xbox owners also owned Halo.[20][21]
It was also critically acclaimed. IGN gave the game a 9.7 out of 10 and stated it to be the best Xbox game of all time. X-Play gave it a perfect 5 out of 5. The game got a perfect ten from EGM, and was 2002 Game of the Year for IGN, EGM, OXM, and AIAS. It got a 9.5 out of 10 from Game Informer, and an average meta-score of 97 out of 100, making it the most highly rated Xbox game of all time. It Also got a score of 9.0 for the PC version and 9.7 for the Xbox version from Gamespot. It was also called the game that reinvented a genre. OXM rated Halo: CE Number 1 in a list of the 100 best games of recent memory, saying "The Xbox did not create Halo, Halo made the Xbox".

Everything about the Game was amazing The Audio was praised

"Halo's soundtrack was created by Bungie Studios' audio director, Martin O'Donnell, and received a large amount of praise from many critics"

First of all if your entire argument is basically one review from one online site. It expresses no views or opinions. BO2 has 5 stars while CE has only 4. Many people agree that Black ops 2 is filled with more action, more choices for gameplay, and better quality graphics and audio.

Black ops 2 allows players the options of Online, multiplayer, zombies, campaign and various maps.

"As one of the most anticipated games of the year, Black Ops 2 has sky high expectations to live up to. The good news is that it does just that.

Black Ops 2 is intriguing in that, rather than offering one protagonist, Black Ops 2 offers two " Alex Mason, from the first title, and his son, David. Innovatively enough, the game"s story accomplishes this by spanning two time periods, that of the Cold War era, where players experience Mason"s missions, and the game"s present day of 2025.

In the future, borrowing someone else's Parrot AR Drone without their permission is a very serious offense, and not taken at all lightly.

Of villains and victors

While Mason"s journey begins with rescuing a prisoner of war, David"s exploits revolve around pursuing a terrorist threat amid an erupting, second Cold War between the US and China. The hook is that father and son are linked through a common enemy, Raul Menendez, whose motivations for his enmity towards the West are based in a tragic loss that he suffered as a child.

The missions that form the core of the campaign swing between two eras, and thus enable players to use conventional weapons, as well as get to play with some more futuristic "toys." As always graphics are top notch, and the accompanying sound appropriately ramps up the tension and adrenaline-fueled sections.

Die another day

However, the campaign"s real strength is its pacing. Brutal fire-fights are punctuated with periods of daring escapades, vehicular sequences and the occasional bout of stealth. What further makes the game so gripping is the fast paced variety of locales.

One moment you will be sneaking your way through tall grass and in the next trying desperately to fight off enemies amid driving rain in the jungle.

In addition to the campaign, also on offer is a robust and exciting multiplayer. Making multiplayer imminently accessible is Combat Training, which caters to those new to the Call of Duty: Black Ops series, and League Play, where players are matched according to their skill level. Additionally, the co-op friendly and deliciously dark Zombies mode further extends the game"s longevity and appeal.

In 2025, ordering from the local fast food joint requires both a strong constitution, and heavy artillery.

Our top three reasons to pick it up:

" High octane action and thrilling escapades that frequently leave you on the edge of your seat
" A diverse mix of combat situations, with weapons which feel weighty and satisfying to use
" Deep and compelling multiplayer

To the point

For FPS fans, Black Ops 2 really should not be overlooked; it"s a great deal of fun, a compelling play and has an enormous amount on offer for the R700 asking price. If you are sitting on the fence, our advice would be to give it a shot." -

Halo was a huge success it's story was different than all other's in it's time.

The story of Sierra 117, John a Spartan, Genetically engineered super soldier. He fight's against the alien nemesis the Covenant for over 20 years.

The Story Takes place on the Ring World Halo A large Structure built by the Forerunners to house the Deadly parasitic race; The Flood. John is Tasked to To Destroy the Ring World before it can be activated and launch a deadly pulse with a range of 10,000 light years that kills every living thing that have enough biomass to house the deadly parasite. All while also fighting the Covenant a collection of races hell-bent on destroying all of humanity.

It's multiplayer allows 4 people to play split screen or 16 over Live in 13 maps with many weapons and vehicles to add to the mix

Plus it's AI was quite sophisticated for it's era, the AI allowed for better more realistic actions such as panicking when a superior is killed diving out the way from vehicles and taking cover from explosives.

It's vehicles in the game were a distinct break from normal first-person shooters of it's time allowing players more options for game-play and was widely welcomed and praised

A lot of people are expecting it to fail, a lot of people want it to fail, but there"s the overwhelming feeling that, whether it"s good or bad, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has shifted a Hell of a lot of units. As people have finally come to terms with Treyarch being so heavily involved in the series " despite originally being seen as the "B-brand" CoD developers " it appears that they have delivered a daring, make-or-break entry into the series that will either disprove those expecting "the same old thing", or resign us all that the series is in a rut it can"t break out of.

"It is that time of the year again in Q4, typically either October or November historically is the timeframe when a Call Of Duty game is released, this year Black Ops II.

The Call Of Duty series has been around for so many years now and the reason for that is simple, it is a successful and appealing gaming franchise. Each year we however we complain about that never updated graphics engine, because as PC users .. we want the best eye-candy availble.

This year however the game changes literally as Call of Duty: Black Ops II will get a number of visual enhancements over previous games in the franchise. HDR lighting, bounce lighting and self-shadowing. There's also a new texture technique called Reveal Mapping, which is claimed to offer big improvements in texture detail.

So us graphics hungry PC gamers with the correct hardware can look forward to DirectX 11 eyecandy as yes the engine now moves towards being DX11 compatible while supporting DirectX 10 as well. There is NO DirectX 9 support anymore, meaning that if you run Windows XP with/or a DX9 class graphics you'll be out of luck. Time for an upgrade.

For the new Medal of Honor Warfighter game things have changed, an upgraded game philosophy and a DirectX 11 game engine ensures that we graphics minded guru's will have a sincere focus at the game. Hey, great gameplay and good graphics on a PC, that's just awesome.

With the new graphics engine in mind and Keywords like Nuketown and Zombies the first person shooter game which is being developed by Threyarch and published by Activision. It is both a single-player and multiplayer game. Small note -- Dedicated server support as stated in an official blog post on September 28th states that dedicated servers will exist, but the bad news is that you can't have one. Activision is hosting all of them itself, refusing to allow you to even rent one, eliminating the possibility for mods.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's near-future setting might have a shot at breaking the cycle of repetition that's defined the series since 2007.

It is the ninth installment in the Call of Duty franchise, and the direct sequel to and a sequel to the 2010 game Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Here at Guru3D we are excited about the game because it willget the update graphics engine which delivers more destructive environments, high quality audio and great 3D graphics.

This means that Call Of Duty Black Ops II system requirements will be more demanding, however, the game will have some of the most advanced visuals and graphics of any game on the market. Here are the full PC specs for the game:

Call Of Duty Black Ops II system requirements (minimum)

Operating systemWindows Vista (Service Pack 2), Windows 7 or 8; (Windows XP not supported)
CPUIntel Core2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz or AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHz
Memory2GB for 32-bit OS or 4GB for 64-bit OS
Hard drive space16GB
Graphics hardwareNvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB or ATI Radeon HD 3870 512 MB"

Black ops 2 is available to play on more consoles than Halo: Combat evolved, well legally of course.

Plus it's graphics where updated tremdously with the release of the 10 year annerversy addition. It's scores from the anniversary addition where even better than the original

People loved the remake its core design and core values went unchanged and they were given a flood of nostalgia when they found fighting the flood was just as difficult and challenging. The level design was the same and the Anniversary addition added multiple new features such as achievements.

People welcomed the Anniversary addition with open arms
"Ten years ago, Halo single-handedly managed to make gamers sit up and pay attention to the fledgling Xbox. Redefining the potential scope and ambition of a console FPS, Bungie"s original game established a benchmark for control, pacing, universe-building, and multiplayer options that would be emulated for years. The revamped anniversary edition of the game does an excellent job of honoring that legacy, even if the project as a whole feels like it"s seeking an identity in the middle ground between new and old. While longtime fans will remember Combat Evolved as the birth of the series"

"In terms of gameplay, going through the campaign's levels feels a little quaint. One realizes that Halo's understated majesty may have simply been a matter of technological convenience in 2001. This time, all that space comes across as a reverential design choice now. Some things don't need to change, though, like the still-impressive enemy AI. The strafing and charging of the Elites, the rolling and dodging of theHunters Jackals, the fearsome power of the Brutes Hunters" they all stick combine to keep you constantly on your toes throughout the campaign.

Classic Mode essentially bakes in a nostalgia mechanic into a game that's already well-loved." (

The game's combat is tight thanks to some of the best weapon balance ever wrought in an FPS, and the action is well-paced and exciting. There is plenty to love here for Halo fans looking to come back into the experience and refresh their memory of the story, and it's certainly the prettiest option for a Halo: Combat Evolved newcomer. It's been since Halo 3 that we've had a chance to catch up with Chief, so this game is a fine opportunity to do so. The whole campaign can be played cooperatively with a friend either through Xbox LIVE, System Link, or split-screen, which is a great touch that adds some replayability to the mix.

"The fourth quarter of 2012 spans October, November, and December, with a multitude of AAA titles releasing during those three months.

In anticipation of the busy season, Nielsen did a survey from September 9th " October 6th to see just which games were the most anticipated. They polled over 4,800 men and women gamers from ages 7 " 54, using different metrics such as awareness, purchase interest, and more.

Once the study was completed, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 came out on top, with Assassin"s Creed 3 and Resident Evil 6 a very close second. Seeing Black Ops 2 in first place isn"t too much of a surprise since it will be the top-selling game of the year, but perhaps the biggest shock on this list is that 007 Legends beat out Medal of Honor: Warfighter."

"Jetpacks with rigid wings. Gloves that can adhere to any surface and support your body weight. Advertisements that feature your face when you walk by. The campaign in Call of Duty: Black Ops II has some interesting ideas about the future of technology, but what about the future of this massively popular shooter series? On the one hand, Black Ops II introduces new mission types and dramatic decision points that liven up the campaign, as well as a league play option that represents a fundamental shift in the franchise's hallowed multiplayer mode. On the other hand, the campaign hits the same satisfying rhythms, the multiplayer captures the same frenetic intensity, and the cooperative zombies mode delivers the same stale undead-massacring action. Caught between striving for the future and remaining rooted in the past, Black Ops II finds solid footing, providing another great ride on the Call of Duty rollercoaster.'

Black ops 2 had ratings that went above and beyond Combat Evolved. In many reviews it was the most anticipated game of 2012.It also has a good 10 years on the original, and yes the anniversary edition has more up to date graphics, BO2 still has a good year on it or so. Black ops 2 put a spin on the entire call of duty series and was the highest rated game out of all. It also features different enemies seeing as how you have humans and zombies unlike halo where the enemy is spartans (aliens).

Reasons for voting decision: Con broke the very first rule of the debate: "Round One is Acceptance Only." Rather than following that simple rule, she started immediately into arguments. I'm sure there's a lot of decent arguments in this debate, but it really doesn't matter when the sole rule set in this debate is spurned from the outset. That would be reason enough to afford Pro conduct as well, though Con's post in the forum asking for votes for her doesn't help her here either.
