I had a debate with another user on this subject, and I decided it was really fun (though I'm not actually done with the debate at the time that I'm writing this). Therefore, I figured, why not have another (but much shorter) debate on this?

I will not use the scenario that I used in that other debate. First round is for acceptance. There is no burden of proof; we'll let readers decide who imagined the better nation. Your nation must me fictional, a product of your own imagination and no one else's. That is, it must be your original work, Plagiarism will result in an automatic loss for the violator, Pro or Con.
Visual Aids are optional, but I ask voters not to base your decision off visual aids.
The nation must be a human nation on Earth which exists today. Be sure to include its history, long or short. Do not make your scenario one that is set in the future. You may feel free to include aspects of your nation's economy, geography, culture, arts, language, etc (however, this is not required).
Also, please include this nation's location. As stated before, it must be on Earth.

No trolling, no profanity, no sexually-explicit material and/or pornography, and no violent threats. Failure to comply will result in an automatic loss for the violator. Anybody may accept, but be sure to take this seriously. Describe your nation in at least some detail, using at least 3000 characters. Using less than 3000 characters will result in an automatic loss for the violator.
Like I stated before, first round is for acceptance.

May the better storyteller win!

Takuru, officially called "The People's Democratic Republic of Takuru," is an island in the Southeast Atlantic, located approximately to the west of Angola. It is slightly smaller than Ireland in size.

The original inhabitants of the island consisted of two tribes called the Dhakra and the Busai. Their cultures produced works of art such as human-sized statues made out of white opal. There are deposits of Opal, Obsidian, and Diamond in Takuru. The cultures produced decorative shields, which were used only by their rulers. These shields were carried into battle by tribal rulers, who believed the shields to have magical protective properties.

In 1560 the Portugese first discovered Takuru. They used it as a "pitstop" on journeys through the Horn of Africa on their way to India and China and back. The Portuguese forced the Dhakra and Busai chiefs to relinquish their power to the Europeans. They remained, however, as figureheads for their respective tribes.

In 1705 the British took control of Takuru. As done by the Portuguese, the British imported crops to the region and used both the locals and imported slaves to grow sugarcane, tobacco, coffee, tea, rice, etc. However, it remained as a pitstop island. Prostitution became a lucrative and profitable business in Takuru since the days of the Portuguese, and sailors stopping in Takuru would often pay to have a "session" with a prostitute and then leave with their ships the next day. Many illegitimate children were born through this business. These children were considered mongrel children by the natives and the Europeans alike.
However, in 1711 a British missionary named John Stanford established an orphanage in Takuru for the illegitimate children born of Takuruan prostitutes and European sailors. Today, Stanford Anglican Church is located in New Liverpool (the capital of Takuru) and a bronze plaque was erected in in honor in 1965, also in New Liverpool.

In 1833 the British Parliament passed the Slavery Abolition Act, abolishing slavery almost everywhere in the British Empire, Takuru included. HOWEVER, Takuru was a plantation state, with much of its livelihood coming from slave labor. So, the Governor of Takuru, Hiram Fawkes, initiated a rebellion against the Crown. The Takuru War started in late 1833 and ended in 1834. The British won and slavery was abolished in Takuru. However, many of the laborers continued working on the plantations as hired workers.

During WWI and WWII and the intermediate period, there was a small unit called the "Takuru Troopers" which fought in the European Fronts for Britain. Today (early April of 2014), several WWII veterans who were members of the Takuru Troopers reside in their homeland, Takuru.

In 1962, in response to an tide of African colonies gaining independence, anti-British protests were raised in Takuru. British troops fired on rioters in New Liverpool, killing 6 people. Unfortunately, this only made the violence worse.
In 1963, Britain granted Takuru its independence. The Republic of Takuru was formed, which had a Parliamentary government similar to what was (and still is today) used in the UK. The Republic of Takuru was also a member state of the Commonwealth of Nations.

In 1986, there was a severe famine in Takuru. 500,000 Takuruans died, many of them children. The people needed somebody to blame, and they blamed the republican government. The People's Takuruan Army (PTA), a Left-Wing guerilla group established in 1975, took power in a bloodless coup on October 29, 1986, in what was known as the Glorious October Revolution. The PTA's Leader, George Muzwa Dagumo, took power of the country. He had solidified his position as supreme leader by 1988.
United States President Ronald Reagan responded to the Glorious October Revolution by closing the US Embassy in New Liverpool, denouncing "President" Dagumo's Regime as illegitimate.
"President" Dagumo, who was ethnically Busai, began (starting in 1992) accusing entire Dhakra villages of treason and having them exterminated. In 1994 the UN issued a statement condemning the Takuruan Genocide. In response to this, Dagumo began cutting back on his genocides, wiping out one or two villages every year or two.
In 1999, a family of Dhakran refugees fled to the United States, testifying that they were being persecuted by Dagumo's Regime. President Dagumo ordered that the US return that Dhakran family. Not wishing to cause an international incident, Clinton returned the immigrants in March of the year 2000.

In 1995, Mount Blackrose (Takuru's single volcano) erupted, killing more than 100,000 people. The US and the UK sent millions of dollars in aid to Takuru.
In 2011, President Obama reopened the US Embassy in New Liverpool, despite the fact that President Dagumo is still in power today.

In Takuru, the majority of the population is black, as the Dhakra and Busai tribes, along with the imported slaves and their descendants, were and are black today. Of course, there's a sizable population of whites, who are the descendants of the Europeans. English and Takuruan are the two official languages of Takuru, though Portuguese is also spoken by part of the population. 91% of the population identifies as Christian, 6% identify as adherents to native tribal beliefs, and the remaining 3% consist of peoples of other faiths, such as Islam.

Now that I've finished my tale of the island nation of Takuru, it's my opponent's term.
I await my opponent's response.

Aestheria, or "The Four of Aestheria," is an archipelago off the Southwest coast of Cuba and just East of the Yucatan Peninsula it is the sister of the Cayman Islands, and is significantly larger than the Cayman Islands but substantially smaller than the Cuban islands. Unlike the Cayman Islands Aestheria is made of four sister-islands.

Aestheria was once the home of one tribe called the "Zheron." The Zheron were a perfectly united group whom unanimously had always agreed on the same thing. The Zheron believed that "Elders" Spoke for the Sun-Goddess Serha, who would grant his followers eternal salvation if they obeyed the Elders. The Zheron also believed that those who did not do as the Elders wanted should be punished. The Zheron were to feast upon those who had not followed the Elders way.

The way of the Elders continued until "Z'heon" claimed the Elders as false prophets, and stated that he "Came from Serha's womb drenched in the blood and guts of the innocent." Z'heon was killed like his predecessors, however that was not the end as Z'heon's death angered Serha. Once a tropical paradise Aestheria was turning into a desert, as Famine, and Drought soon hit. It was clear that the Elders had angered Serha and so decided to split of from being a Zheron, after the Elders had been killed to please Serha the Zheron would kill off the rest of the followers. The Remaining Zheron wanted to go out in style. As the Zheron wanted to please the Sun-Goddess they decided to host a Battle Royale that would wage on for years to come. The Youngest of the Zheron would make a tribe that would forever remain in war, until each Tribe was to be wiped out. The four tribe-leaders would forever be known as the "Aern" or the chosen four. Serha decided to lift her curse off of Aestheria, and reward them with each a piece of land, along with a valuable resource.

The Zheron split into four tribes which were called, The Akasi, They were known masters of the arts, Science, and literature, but developed technology slightly slower than The Telos. The Zeor, brutes whom we're stronger than any other on the Island and still followed the Cannibalism culture of the Zheron. The Lekian, Serha had given these few the gift of Speed. The Telos who followed the religion prophesied by Z'heon or simply, Zheroism, were the fastest to develop new technologies. The "Aern" also chose to split the land into fourths. The Akasi took the first island, Zeiiha, A Moderate climate island. The Zeor took the second island, Fehnijhir, Known to the Zeor as the White-Death, The Lekian took the fourth island Teriah a tropic paradise, Which homes Mt. Kiroan, Which to the day remains the tallest mountain in the western hemisphere. The Telos accepted the last island Seriah, Which holds the Infamous Bijhave Desert. They Would fight a way every Century as the "Aern" Decided.

In 1233 Mongolian refugees from South Asia fled to Japan, or so thought that way, Instead a series of Winds brought three Mongolian brothers from South Asia to the second island to "Fehnijhir" where the brothers slaughtered the local male residence with Archery, and Swordplay. This made the women of Fehnijhir fall in love with the brothers as they would make the perfect killing machines. 3,000 Zeor were slaughtered on that day.

In 1499 a Spaniard by the name of Santiago Cruciz ventured to the Fourth Island in Aestheria "Seriah." and claimed the Island for Spain with the help of his men. Santiago enslaved most of the Telos and created a Missionary where he would convert the Telos to Spanish-Catholism. Santiago also was the first to discover the various riches that Seriah produced, such as gold and diamonds. Santiago went back to Spain to tell of his new found land, Queen Isabella had no time to deal with Seriah and then Insisted that Santiago bring settlers to Spain and wipe out the current populous.

In 1503 Santiago returned to Seriah with an Army of Conquistadors ready to settle things, he was shocked to see his Missionary destroyed and the flag of Spain burning. He was just as Shocked to see the Telos unchained and covered with blood holding the spears pikemen would, as it was the last thing he saw.

In 1603 the British noticed interest in the Third Island of Aestheria "Teriah" as they hoped to soon secure as an Military Bay for docking and returing ships. The Queen of England had explicitly ordered that her men were to not touch the natives in any way, those who failed to abide to these rules would be executed on return. One year later the British sent troops and builders to "Teriah" and would eventually build "Teriah's Capitol" Marksenberg. Many British troops ignored the Queen's order and Enslaved the Population. The British Eventually Colonized Teriah In 1619. Slavery would remain in Teriah until the British Parliament passed the Slavery Abolition act in 1833

In 1756 German Colonists failing to reach the Americas stumbled across the first Island of Aestheria, "Zeiiha" they took interest in it immediately and befriended the current populous, they lived in harmony, co-existing with one another and soon the "Akasi" would become one with the German Colonists, adopting their culture.

I simply can't finish this off.

If no one else accepts, then sure. Be sure to conduct yourself seriously and make the description of your nation as realistic as possible. As stated before, visual aids (via links) are optional but NOT necessary. I probably will not be using any visual aids.
